oh GREAT....look what the cat dragged in! :-\

Now I have to leave this board too...and I just got here..

You are hurting Frankie's party instead of helping it....your post sounds like a desperate cry for help....sad really

When will you realize that you only hurt the scene with your negativity...but wait, what am I saying? I forgot, you are totally meaningless! carry on genius!

:-X

Wait, I didn't insult you in any way. I don't intend to.

OG he has been warned...I think he will keep it respectable...no need to leave. You guys just need to agree to disagree and leave it alone...Phill...regardless of what you think of Og does have respect for our scene and its roots and while his evolution through music and where he is at today may not be your thing..and maybe not mine you can certainly respect the fact that he knows where this all started.

Jeez, with all the drama, I think I'm just going to skip them both. I couldn't really decide which, anyway. On the one hand there was the "support the small guy" which I am really big on and there will be a bunch of my peeps there. The problem there is that I am not particularly too much of a house fan. Then there was the "go see the huge name in a giant packed house", which is also fun, and it supports CJ. The problem there is, I'm not such a huge fan of paying cover, even for Okie, or driving over the bridge.

Honestly, I think I'll just go to State. They are having a premiere issue release party for some new mag called VIP Guide Miami which should be fun. And, they support my favorite website, as well.

Or maybe I'll just go see Shrek 2.

In any case, all this carrying on on ALL the boards is not doing anyone any good.

Meanwhile, the folks at Club Space decided it would be fun (and very beneficial to Miami's fickle house scene) to bring Paul Oakenfold and Hernan Cattaneo alongside Murk to perform on the same night in question, May 22nd. By allowing Cattaneo to open for Oakenfold's marathon 2 hour set, Space believes they are making a worthwhile contribution to house music (or something along those lines)

What they may not realize, is while their Mickey Mouse club will draw in a huge crowd of clueless Perfecto clan admirers who are willing to pay $35 to listen to a load of overplayed Perfecto anthems, XESS Chicago will be evaluating the dedication of Miami clubbers to real house music. If this event goes smoothly and draws in a big crowd, XESS may very likely return with more uncompromised talent. So if you care enough about Miami's house scene and are willing to forego a Club Space outing for just one night so that you can listen to someone who put house music on the map, then for the love of house music, support Frankie Knuckles and the extremely capable and forward-thinking promoters who are bringing him to Miami!!! Or, if you can't live a saturday without your injection of Space poison, at least make an effort to show up to both venues!!! Thank you and have a nice day!

Your original post insults Space, Perfecto, Oakey Hernan and everyone who has decided to go to an event that YOU consider inferior. Who made you the arbiter of all things house? I happen to believe that people can choose for themselves what type of music they like.

Miami always has and will continue to support Space especially when they have big talent...regardless of what you think of the talent. It really is pathetic that you think you must (or even can) manipulate people by throwing the guilt card.

I have been friends with Jon Cowen for many years now and I love what they do at Nerve. They have consistantly brought us quality talent. They always care about the customer. That said, this is a free market economy and Space does a great job of promoting. If the XESS guys are worried about Oakey being down the road then they should promote harder. Nerve is a small venue and should have no problem finding enough people to fill the place who don't want to see Oakenfold and Co.

Hey Coach are you still promoting for STATE.......

Yes, indeed. To be honest, and don't tell Gerry, but my promoting for them does not actually influence my decision of where to go very often, I just think this weekend's event sounds like a lot of fun. I support State because I like Gerry and I see potential in that venue. I mean, sure they treat me real nice when I show up and all because he's cool like that, but I like to visit a *lot* of different places. I realize it isn't a place for everyone, just like any club, so I try to choose my venues for promotion carefully so I don't waste my time nor piss off a bunch of people who don't want to hear it nor break any posting rules.
