Guest saintjohn
This is my hometown (which was hit hardest).did you happen to see the news report about an older couple in pensacola that lost their home? they were surprisingly philosophical about it. it turns out that the husband had been a pilot in the navy, was shot down over vietnam, presumed dead or missing for a long time, then discovered to be a pow. as bad as the hurricane was for them, they'd been through worse. amazing. if i'd been in their situation, i'd like to think that i'd be strong, but i'd probably end up on oprah, crying like a baby, wanting the whole world to feel pity for me.i feel so sorry for the folks in pensacola. people there are just so . . . decent. it's sad to think about how many of them lost so much. CrzyC1414779017
people there are just so . . . decent. This line made me laugh. But seriously, there are friends we still havent heard from, friends who have lost entire homes, etc. But what is truly amazing is how the community has come together to help one another out. Now if could just get through the rest of hurricane season...oh wait, nevermind...I hear Jeanne knocking at the door. :
