Guest coach
Sooooooooo... it looks like we might be buying down here sometime in the next few months. If anybody can do a prequal so we can know what we can afford, I would sure appreciate it. I know there are some mortgage people around here and I'd rather give my biz to a friend. Please PM or email me.I now return you to your regularly scheduled mayhem.

Banks are better for people with good credit because our rates tend to be better and we NEVER charge points. No prepayment penalties and closings in less then four weeks. Not all brokers rape people, but too many bad apples have spoiled the bunch.
Guest somefiercehouse
not to dis anyone by any means....but INHO....going to a bank for a loan is like going to a record store that only sells one record lable. they can only get you the rates they offer and that's it...going to a mortage broker will get you the best mortgage that works for you.good luck on your search! I'll put it this way, if you're looking for a standard 30,20,15 year mortgage, banks are way better. If you need a no employment - no asset verification, 100% financing, or something else creative, definitely stay clear of banks.
