and that said..

went to see derrick carter, nice seeing many junkies.. our area was by far the best vibe in the place.. carter is a fucking [glow=red,2,300]DJ[/glow] and thats all i can say.. never saw him before but i am so glad i was able to SEE him do his thing... DAMN!! now THATS mixing.. heard some crystal waters 100% pure love sampled in there, green velvet - dank.. man i havent heard that in ages!! lots of good good good stuff.. opening DJ, was jason, right? he did a great job, i really enjoyed his set too..

gryphon was a surprisingly nice club considering where it is! nice sound, cool decor, fairly good sized.. if only it wasnt @ the casino, it would be great!! the crowd kinda sucks but the club itself is nice...did anyone notice the entire DJ rig MOVING when carter was spinning? i mean significant and very clear motion back or forward.. umm... thats bad..

here is where soozin bitches about the hard rock:

as for hard rock: what the hell is wrong w/ people? first we have to park in the dirt way across the street, ok i can handle that. they have >1< shuttle going and like 200 people waiting. so decide to walk... but NONONO the cops WILL get you. so we try jaywalking in a group and almost get arrested, ha!! cop followed 12 of all the way to stirling road (hello, there is a SIGNAL and a cross walk we were going to) and makes us all turn back. so then there are like 50 people on a 30 person tram thing w/ nothing to hold on to.. yep, thats reaaaaaaaally safe. much better than crossing at a cross walk 1/2 mile south of the damn casino. right. someone needs to restructure that system in a big way. ok last rant--MEN: what the hell is wrong with ft laud males? my poor friend got hit on in a most obnoxious fashion at least 12 times. thank you alex for being there to help, thankfully we did ditch that guy tho. its nice to not have to drive to miami and all.. but i think its worth it to just to avoid the ft laud BS!

LOL it's always an adventure when you need to see a DJ you really want to see.

At least at the end it all worked out and you got to see Derrick Carter.

what can i say.......... BEST SET IVE HEARD THIS YEAR....... and it wasnt soulful house....... :o :o :o

for about an hr i was broken thanks to David Orth and the two back to back patron shots... (thanks bro. and thanks for the kind words about me....... meant a lot)

anyways DERRICK CARTER IS A REAL LEGEND. ALL VINYL....... WOW . HUGE PROPS

at 545 he was still goin. lyrik, alan and gina and bside all that was left from the huge crew. and about 15 others in club

what sucks about gryphon is that the people that go there dont know a thing about music. the vibe sucked and crowd was dead

the man rocked it like no dj ive heard. 2 min-3min mixes he played a billion tracks. just funky dirty sleazy house ......

thanks for the id help lyrik (master of all things chicago house)....... should have gotten his autograph grrrr oh well.....

he mixed flawless his track selection was ridiculous. i mean HE PLAYED THE FREAKIN STAR WARS CANTINA THEME. HOLY CRAPPPPPPPPPPPPP

nothign left to say except... IF U DIDNT GO U MISSED OUT

my official review later this week

pics soon

Closed the freakin place DOWN!

Derrick was incredible last night - best set I've heard him throw in a looong time and to a crowd that looked for the most part like they were slow dancin at their high school prom. Its okay the side by the booth and in front of the decks was where it was at and the people there knew what was up...TOO many tracks went off last night. 100% pure love...the accapella of 5O CENT he threw....20/20 rmx of one of my favorite tracks of all time - Funky People..."God made me funky"...shades of dank...God Damn. Whats most amazing is here Derrick is with not one but 2 DJ bags packed full of vinyl (at least 200 records)...anyone that has tried to travel and fly with this knows how much of a hassle this is and how easy it could be just to get away with bringing CDs. I thin I seen Derrick play maybe 5 or CDs the times I was around the booth...which was a lot.

Bling lets hope the liqour didn't cloud mine and Seths memory on the track ids...I know I already had to pm you a correction...just pm me for any questions...now that I am home I can just go into my files and make sure becuase I have at least 85% of thshit he played....well with the exception when he broke out the real fuckin disco - deputy of power 79' and just kept killin in - Paul Johnson's everybody party. Best set of the year hands down....and Derrick stuck around to talk shit with the remaining people after the lights went on and the music stopped.

D.C's the man. A long time ago in Seattle his records got sent to Cuba so he had to play from 3 of my friends boxes who had records at the party and he threw it down. The funny thing is about that set was, we could all tell which DJ's records he was playing during the mix and it blew us all away how he made them sound so different yet we were so familiar with those songs. Does that make sense...? It was as if the 3 DJ's who he had to borrow the records from, were all mixing at the same time.

thank you alex for being there to help,

;) np

It was good seeing you, your cool as fcuk.

I parked accross the street from the casino, and had no problems. One thing that place needs is a larger parking garage.
