Quite possibly the worst VMA's ever, who ever did the sound engineering for the show should find a new career, It's plausable to suggest that the hurricane had some effect on the set up so I will let that be. I think MTV is running out of idea's and quite frankly the entire VMA felt like a bad acid trip of Diddy and his self gratification. The tribute to B.I.G. was cool but it's been done so many time's that even the full blown orchestra didn't move me. Eva Longoria, even my girl was drooling, gotta love those camel toe bathingsuit's. Nice to see Greenday up there to add some kind of variation also Coldplay running around. Whether it was the storm, bad producer's, lack of originality, or the unracial fact that MTV is turning into BET, I think I'll stick to sofa and watch via plasma. Last year's was so piss-poor on production value that it was embarassing to watch from beginning to end. I think they at least took a few steps forward on production quality this year. Whether you liked the actual performances or not (I think I only 2 or 3 tops) they at least had the flow of the show and the technical aspects much more organised this year than last year. And the remote performances by The Killers and Mariah Carey from hotels on South Beach was a very cool touch in my opinion. Last year's was easily the worst ever. Guest eskimogirl2005 Posted August 30 Report Share Posted August 30 I was at the Pre-Show and I happen to be a Black girl who loves a wide range of music (but House is my fav.) and even I will tell you that most of the time I weas there and that I watched it on TV I was wondering "Who the hell are these people?". I was seeing countless identically-clad "hip-hop stars" and honestly I still don't know who the you know what half of the people were there. Seeing Snoop, Green Day, Shakira, etc. were the highlights of my day and yes MTV is a business but to see such an extreme of clear product, materialism, and commercialism , MTV-style paraded in front of me like that was disgusting. I had fun there for like an hour. How Fucking Cheesy!!!!!!! I'll keep with the Anti-Pop music I've leaned towards the past couple of years until they stop-----the scary thing is they've gotten so far into this muck that it looks like it only gets worse from here!!!!!
