Marketing is everything, yes. But you can't polish a turd. Having a nicely-kept place solves half your problems.

But why leave your club as a shithole? I'm sorry, but I would want to take pride in my business. But that's me. I can't abide by a place that looks like it is gonna collapse in on itself. My work requires a strong, well-kept visual element, and if a club doesn't have that, I'm out.

My advice to Mr. Grant is to turn the place out. Make it look spectacular. Downtown doesn't mean it has to be dirty.

Dude, when I said " shithole" I was just being very general. I did not mean that it literally has to look like a shithole. Of course the place has to have striking visuals. But Marketing is everything!!!! You can have the best product on the market and starve because you can't and/or don't know how to sell it to the masses. On the same token, you can have the worst product on the market and be rich. Why? because you believe in your ptoduct and know how to sell it. Anybody can make a better burger than Mcdonalds. But who has a better maketing plan than Mcdonalds? ;)

Burger King does. Ronald McDonald is nothing compared to the King. Wake up with the King.

C'mon man, wake up... You're missing the point i'm making here. I'm talking about the average joe in the corner restaurant who makes a way better burger than Mcdonald or Burger King but cannot make the millions that they make.

the biggest Venue in DR is a Cave...and guess what...

Crobar recently bought it ;)

dude I played that venue with robbie rivera and saeed younan we all had a big time reaction to that cave... allergies bigtime... that place was a toxic mold farm... I do have to admit I was pretty impressed when i first walked in... also hated carring the crate back up out of there...

first person i hear complain about the plce...

EVERY DJ we book loves the place...sorry abou the "reaction"

usually Americans get sick when they visit 3rd world countries like mine... :(

The thing about the NV/Warehouse space is, it is really plain and boring. I know some of you crackheads like the dark smelly rooms, but your average non-crack-fiend clubgoer doesn't. They want decor and something nice to look at. That room doesn't have it. It is a really ugly space and too conducive to crack-like activities.

That room is ugly? I couldn't even tell because it's so F'n dark in there.

Everybody was saying that with Space and Nocturnal in downtown Metropolis would never be able to survive, not enough clubbers, it's too big blah blah blah.. On both friday and saturday they average 5000 people or more, without affecting Space or Nocturnal much. How do you explain that?...... Marketing Tactics are everything.......

people love to turn out and check out the new kid on the block. it's all about staying power. people tire of shit easily. let's see which clubs are still standing a year or two from now.
