Guest pod
Is Rumi still open??? i know they used to have music on weekend nights....... just wondering I went once and it was pretty funI never understood the appeal of the joint. The whole orange-on-brown scheme was pretty revolting.

Guest pod
Well this list is of failed venues. Closed and failed aren't necessarily related.
Guest Miss_Digital
Well this list is of failed venues. Closed and failed aren't necessarily related. from an economic stand point ... the way i see it is if its making it stays open if its not its closed = failed which reminds me of billboard
Guest pod
Depends. What if I'm a successful club owner, and I shut down my venue since I'm old and just tired of the long nights and stress? Was the club a failure then? There have been venues and nights that have shut before the going gets bad. I'd rather shut down after a good run than beat a dead horse like a lot of venues, DJs, and promoters seem to do these days.

Guest pod
Well nonetheless, I wouldn't put Shadow Lounge or Level in the failure category. ;D

Guest dre4
cielo as in the same one from nyc? and what do u guys think is the formula for sucess?
Guest pod
Different Cielo. It was gonna be a Latin club of sorts in the Brickell district.Formula for success in nightlife isn't easy. I can tell you one thing though, focusing on one group of people means your club is shut within a year.

And almost every club will see its time expire quicker then you think. Except for places like Pacha and the Space franchises what is the average life span for a successful club? Very, very short. If your smart about it you get out while the getting out is good. Shutdown. Remodel. Rename. Take another stab at the masses.

Guest vegasguy25
Well this list is of failed venues. Closed and failed aren't necessarily related. from an economic stand point ... the way i see it is if its making it stays open if its not its closed = failed which reminds me of billboardIf a club opens, and never really reaches a level of success, then it is a failed venue. If a club opens, is successful for a number of years, and then closes because it has run its course, that is not a failure. The clubgoing crowd is notoriously fickle, wanting something new all the time. How many clubs can you name off the top of your head that have been open and successful for more than five years? We have a few here in Vegas, but that's because they're inside casinos. If they were freestanding, there's no way they'd survive. It takes a great deal to be successful in the club industry. Having your venue open and turning a profit for a few years is considered a success in anyone's book. Except yours apparently.
