A lot of people in substance abuse prevention are switching to a harm-reduction model. Fear-based tactics (like the crashed car on the quad during homecoming, etc...) are proven not to work as effectively. The DARE programs are slowly being proven not to work either! People are starting to realize that scare tactics and zero tolerance don't cut it. We need to give people accurate information, and let them make good choices. There! time2go Posted May 26 Report Share Posted May 26 This is interesting. Before college I used to hate everyone who did so little as drank. You can't judge people on drugs that they've taken, but that they may beprone to weakness if they want to take that drug again. I think that there should be an honor system. Its not cool when a person loses control of themselves, and does soemthing stupid, like fight or rape. Drugs are here, and you can't get rid of them, you might as well learn to live with it.
