Guest yume
I was shocked I wasn't at least patted down going into clubs around here.Just cause someone's sexy and flaunting D&G threads doesn't mean they don't carry weapons.
Guest pod
Again, most of the venues down there don't lend themselves to violence of this nature. I have yet to see anyone that you describe who can handle a weapon properly though. ;DBesides, if you're gonna dress and carry, Brooks Brothers should fit the bill. Guest shrek_inc
they should shot down that club every weekend the same story, a fight , stabbing or a shooting! they city should sanction them or something is making downtown and the clubs next to it look bad.Pod is there any way to do something about this club?????? (ur the master of all club knowledge)
Guest pod
The city can come in and regulate if there's repeated instances of violence within the venue. There's where it gets tricky, it has to be within the venue.
Guest addictedtospace
The trick is that most of the people that frequent the clubs don't live on Miami Beach and can't vote on issues like this. And the ones that do live here and are pro-nightlife are often not able to vote due to various issues. The voting bloc consists of condo owners and old people. It's the Old People that try to get rid of Clubs and Party goers. My suggestion, do not let any new old people to move to the Beach. They will start dying off, without a new batch of Depends wearing oldies from moving in. Build a beach in Century Village so they can enjoy the water over there.

Guest Belgian Kat
..i had the worst luck.. i was just passing the front of the club when they started running out of the club and throwing the barricades to the side..i was like..ohh nah... and it was 3 people who got shot..2 were picked up at the club and a 3rd one was dropped off by friends at jackson memorial.. and trust me..there is not much difference between the crowd on a saturday at LIFE and the crowd at METROPOLIS on a sunday..same thing..... that is why i hang out in Space or smaller venues... I never had a problem in Space, I'm imagine there have been, but nothing like this crap going on lately... that is just plain scary!
Bling
i think an investment in metal detectors is in order..... seriously
Guest Belgian Kat
The condo people are licking their chops, they are going to shut that whole street down...Keep shooting, the condo people are keeping score and soon enough 11st will be GONE, which includes Space, even LP will loose that battle, thus why he's going back to the beach...don't underestimate LP... he was there before anyone was... Guest dancefloored
Gunfire Empties Miami Club, Wounds 2(CBS4 News) MIAMI A downtown Miami nightclub erupted into chaos early Sunday morning when someone opened fire into a group of people at Club Envy, sending two people to the hospital. Police are still looking for the gunman. The shooting happened at around 3:30 a.m. Sunday at the club at NW 2nd avenue and 11th Street, according to the Miami police department. Witnesses say they herard shots ring out, creating pandemonium. When the shots ended, the gunman was gone and two people were bleeding from gunshot wounds. One was hit in the leg, another in the chest, and both were taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital.Witness Shawn Shamazzi said the fight apparently started between a past employee and a current club employee over a girlfriend. They say the men left the club but returned later, just before the shots were fired.(© MMVI, CBS Broadcasting Inc. All Rights Reserved.)http://cbs4.com/local/local_story_211144740.htmlI never understood why miami is so laid back on door screenings at clubs. At least a pat-down would be appropriate.Maybe even a metal detector wouldnt be a bad idea........affirmative on the pat down at least! just got back from Toronto and they are all about that. It always struck me as odd why they would do it in Canada but not anywhere in FLhmmm.....time for a change
240turbo
Don't worry. If they force the afterhours clubs out of downtown. I bet right now as we type, some smart businessman (ahem... ahem...) is thinking of another area with a 24hr liquor license( ahem.. ahem...) to start all over again. And I'm pretty sure I know where that's going to be.
