roadrunner
I went on an awful first (nearly blind) date last night. We went to the movies. Bad idea, no talking! So I was talking to my friend over beers afterward and we were trying to think of something GOOD. Drinks? A walk? (Not everyone is immediately receptive to a night of clubbing.) Has anyone had a GOOD first date with someone you didn't really know? What did you do?
starcapone
i think going to the movies for a first date is bad cuz there is no/minimal interaction. your not getting to know one another. i suggest go to a lounge/dinner and then enjoy a nice walk...anything that involves stricking up a conversation. ------------------ * gonna make, gonna make your body wet..gonna make, gonna make your body scream my name.. *~same shit - different day~
peache5030
My first date with my boyfriend was a normal date but perfect for us to get to know each other..we went to DINNER (normal)..talked alot about ourselves...had a drink at the bar of the restuarant..we left and went to a lounge with really good music..the place was pretty dark and couches everywhere..a good way to get comfortable around each other..the music aspect was soo good..i knew he would be somewhat compatible with me..NEVER ever go anyplace where you cant TALK...thats the most important part...------------------ I am not afraid of tomorrow. I have seen yesterday and I love today.I dont cry because it ENDED--> I smile because we HAPPENED..
cmb1975
Definatley (especially if it is a blind date) meet for drinks...then you can decide if you like each other and THEN decide if you wanna get dinner...take a walk...etc.------------------ The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams. roadrunner
Yeah, I totally hear what you're saying it's just that asking someone to a movie is easy. Asking someone to drinks has a slightly sleazy quality to it. Right? I mean I don't want to come off like I'm trying to get the girl drunk... although it never hurts!BTW, I'm totally addicted to Blind Date. I was just wondering if anyone had gone on any "kooky" ice-breaking dates in NY. In terms of daytime stuff, I think riding the Beast at South Street Seaport would be funny. But it seems like novel night time activities are fairly limited... I'm rambling (hungover), but I just wanted to hear some really cool shit people have done on an early date. Like one time I did a j with a girl out by the west side highway at the Intrepid. THAT was fun and weird and sort of romantic, in a way that a movie totally is not.Stories, people! lisarose
I went on a date with this guy and he brought me to a hockey game. I love hockey and the game itself was fun but he was soooo loud and obnoxious that I felt everyone was just staring at us for the rude things he kept shouting at the players... i guess that was a good way to realize we weren't compatible. djmikedr
I find GETTING to the first date the hardest part, once there its smooth sailing, btw Toys R Us is good for getting someone to show there playful side.now only if they had a porn store after toys R US, it'd be much easier...------------------Available for play, but not for stay.New Mix CD available "5 HTP"DJmikeDR@aol.com aim: DJmikeDR
petp
gotta agree with the others, lounges or upscale bars are a good idea to get to know someone. in the event that you dont like them, you can always bail out of it early. movies and clubs are a no-no cause you cant talk to the person. D.Schwartz
Take her to Chucky Cheese, that's where I would take all my date. ------------------
Guest xfactor834
First date: Going to the boardwalk by the beach. Getting a bag of freshly popped kettle corn. Eating it and walking by the beach together. If the date goes well, by the bottom of the bag, you'll be feeding it to each other...watching the sunset...and wrapping each other up in warm blankets as the sun went slowly down Perfect =)------------------ Time to roll baby, time to roll. xxlea
Movies are a bad idea for first/blind dates. If you can manage to arrange something during the day, even better. Go out to lunch or a walk in the park and if it doesn't go well, you can always say you had plans for that evening.------------------ People come into your life for reasons not yet known, keep your mind, heart and soul open.AIM: Xxlea77
