Bush Outlines Aid to Mortgage Holders...

Bush will make clear, as he has in the past, that he does not plan to support a bailout for struggling mortgage lenders. But a senior administration official said aides are studying the possibility of “a broader federal role†in regulating mortgage brokers and originators.

umm doesn't this go against the conservative perspective on economics???

Bush should do nothing. If a person went out and bought a Ferrari making 35k a year and it got repoed, we wouldn't care, but since they bought way too big of a house suddenly we need to fix the problem?

I don't think so!

very good analogy.

but the difference is, these people will lose their homes...not a car.

I see no difference, you can always buy a beater or rent an apt. Keeping a home is not a right in this country.

I must say,,,I tend to agree w/ VB. I see Bush says there's no BAILOUT for the lenders, but he's working on something for the homeowners who fell prey to shady lenders.......Yes, there should be some level of personal responsibility, but the reality is that not everyone is fully versed in all the details involved w/ homeloans.

Let's see what happens?

You tell em Saleen... When did the Republicans become socialist? We can barely manage being imperialist. I'll argue for the system to work we need a strong lower class, a strong middle class and a strong upper class.

It's your largest purchase you'll ever make in your life, paying an attorney 300 bucks to look over your documents before you close is what they should have done. Now they cry and blame others for their mistakes.

What ever happened to personal responsibility?

Great Question!

Apparently,,,,not in this culture...everything is ALWAYS someone elses fault. We're all victims...Unless we have an R next to our name,,,,then we're guilty by association. LOL
