Pershoot
I was thinkin of goin to chicago to relive some old house moments. Can anyone reccomend any good spots, afterhours, a quick description of the scene and the people. Any other relevant info? Thanks. I appreciate it. back2basics
Well most of the old school Chicago clubs have shut (the warehouse for example where it all kicked off). The house sound is still deep and soulful. It's still a pretty good scene though. You have Crobar which is Prog/hard house and trance.Places like the Mad Bar, Red Dog play a more Chicago house sound.Pure do some good parties, they regularly get bug names (Josh wink,Mr C et al) at Crobar or RedNoFive.People who regularly play include Leyo, Derrick Carter, Derrick May, Frankie Knuckles, Carl Cox. etc.And then there are quiet a few one off's. I went to see Richie Hawtin who blew the roof of the smart bar. Best night out I have had since Clockwork orange in Ibiza 12 months ago! There are quiet a few raves to go to if your into that, but I am not too sure about that side, although a guy I have been speaking to from www.BoogieTribe.com does the best. There not you usual kind of thing they use more fringe DJ's like Richie, Dave Clark, Sven Vath etc.Give me shout if you need more info.------------------I want to go out blazing not fade away. It's not just about the notes played, it's about the spaces in-between.
