The Tempest. One of the most original stories, taken and used by Hollywood for years.

Although Hamlet has two of my favorite characters of all time, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern (sp??).

Good non-club question!

Um, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead!

King Lear comes second with it's profound nihilism. They are all good damn it.

i agree about lear thought its my favorite..

Great movie... remember seeing it for the first time on PBS, like, 8 years ago. Best parts are when Gary Oldman discovers all the laws of physics (like when he's sitting in the bathtub with the paper boat going up and down).

Also, Romeo & Juliet... I'm just a sucker for romance! cwm7.gif

BTW, little known fact. There is a very early version of Hamlet that "they" called Ur-Hamlet. It's really unlike the Hamlet version everyone is acquainted with. Conclusion is that it's so brilliant, that it's possible it was Shakespeare's very first written work that he carried around with him until it was perfected.

Hamlet alone is enough to put his contemporary Christopher marlowe to shame
