pulsedriver
Perry Farell is spinning at a Purim festival On Thursday. I'm a big fan of Janes Addiction and therefore admire Perry for everything he has done musically. I have never heard him spin though and was wondering what he is like. I think its awesome that he's doing a purim festival type thing and I feel the need to go to reprazent my people! I'm a little torn though because Mark Farina is at Centro that night. Has anyone heard Perry spin? what kind of music? Is it worth missing Mark Farina to check out Perry?------------------ Forget the gold I want the pot at the end of the rainbow... mugwump
I've heard Perry spin a couple of times and I hate to say it because I love the guy as an artist and I respect his energy but he sucks as a DJ. In 6th Element he spun really abstract shit like Mouse on Mars and mixed in everything from Disco ("I feel Love" by Donna Summers)to more tech house (but low key nothing really high energy enough to get the crowd scream) another time I was lucky enough to go to a party in Sundance at a loft where he spun very cheesy 80's New Wave (New order,KraftWerk) with shit like Older Moby tracks. I think He is an incredible persona but perhaps he is a much better performer and musician than DJ. I hope he organizes another Enit fest though. That party was the shit!Did any one go to that? peeeaaace

Enit was the most amazing event I have been to - EVER!!! Not to mention the amazing trips we got from this adorable little hippy-chick. I started peaking when Porno for Pyros played "Summertime Rolls"- what a beautiful song. The Orb, Rabbit in the Moon, Lady Miss Kier, not to mention all the djs... I began to hope that aliens really would come down and take us all away on that little piece of earth... it was a very transcendental experience for me. I mean if computer games affected us as kids we'd all be running around in darkened rooms, munching pills, and listening to repetitive music.
