mugwump Posted August 12 Report Share Posted August 12 Drum & Bass is an umberella term:(That's to say that there's maaany different styles based on breaks..)KJ: Darker, Harder (and yea I'm afraid to agree..shadier than it use to be)Baktun: Varied..(can jump from Raga dub like deep D&B to hard and dirty banging tech step)Test Press Sundays: similar to Baktun..sometimes jumping into 2 step (but usually just straight up Jungle)Halcyon: has some good nights (more on the breakbeat science vibe..intelligent D&B with 2 step)MUTINY: are for Jungle heads that like Global Indian sounds with their breaks (The frying Pan parties are amazing..often with LIVE tabla performers)Guernica has some HARDER minimal break nights as well as Lep Lounge on Mondays I believe..But I've yet to go to those two nights..Experience all the angles..D&B is a very wide ranging world..There's a bit for everyone*..*(I'm a bit more into the LTJ Bukem, DB, Reid Speed and jazzier intelligent shit..but sometimes I like to get evil with Metal Headz type shit.
