shadowchaser
Techno is around. . . Trance has come and gone and come and gone and come again... Progressive is here and here to stay. . .progressive is an attitude.. House isn't going anywhere... Tech house is in right now, but can get redundant... BreakBeat and 2-Step is finally catching on. . . so...anyone know or have a clue what's the next style that djs will latch on to? UK garage? hear the music, say the word, see the light, join the herd. . .

JonStephen
In this country......Two step will be the next big thing.I could definately see further down the line producers blending hip-hop into techno. If that ever happens, I could see that exploding. However, any attempt to accomplish this so far hasn't sounded good.........Just a thought. launch
I wanna see Break beats become bigger. You can mesh hip hop and breaks so easily. The last few times I went out, I have heard dj's drop so breaks in the middle of their sets. There is still hope I guess.

jasonjollins
I feel 2002 to be the year where breaks really start catching on. I don't think that it will be just break beats, but I vision alot of house/trance dj's mixing them into there sets much more frequently than they currently do. furnace
I think the next thing to catch on here will be what I callCheeze HouseYou know, Ian Van Dahl - Castles In The Sky type stuff.Theyr'e already playing it on the radio, which is good and bad. It's good that electronic music of any type is making it to the radio. Unfortunately, it's the cheezy type indicating that that is what is most popular. Then again, commercially viable and quality normally don't come together (few exceptions - Radiohead, Depeche Mode, Cure, Rage Against The Machine, etc. come to mind)Otherwise, I'm not sure how quickly 2-step will catch on. It does have an advantage, with its roots in hip hop. And it comes with a built in lifestyle/glam image, which doesn't hurt. We'll see...but for me, underground baby...(except when I go to Centro hehe)
