kings The life and times of notorious South Beach club owner Chris Paciello (nee Christian Ludwigsen) are depicted in an upcoming A&E TV movie, Kings of South Beach. Along with Liquid nightclub partner Ingrid Casares (who was once romantically linked with Madonna in her pre-Kabalah days), Paciello was an imposing force in Miami’s club scene in the 1990s. He used a combination of money, violence and intimidation to build his empire. Paciello’s rose from Brooklyn/Staten Island high school dropout to South Beach mover and shaker to mob informant, only to see it all come crashing down in 1993 when he drove the getaway car when his gang broke into the wrong house and killed a Staten Island housewife (he later spent eight years in jail for the crime). Kings of South Beach was written by Nicholas Pileggi, (Casino and Goodfellas); Paciello is portrayed by Jason Gedrick, while Donnie Wahlberg plays Andy Burnett, Paciello’s tough-guy best friend.
