the reason I used to love the old ClubNYC is that there was such a mix of people on there: club kids, ravers, high rollers, guidos, straight, gay (actually the majority of the site was probably gay) and we all used to give great reviews or meetup at different clubs (not like just Roxy Friday there is now lol)...I learned alot from the peeps that used to post on that board, they were definetely some of the realest heads Ive ever met!

The only advice I can think of is for you to start spinning stuff you're comfortable with...since you're learning to spin, you're gonna spend MAD hours getting into the swing of things, so you might as well be listening to something you enjoy...so if prog house/trance is your thing then go with that...thats also a good way to start because its easier to learn mixing anything with a 4/4 kick (like house/trance)...good luck! With nothing in my system...can't say the same about you two that night Deep Dish at Vinyl: I left at 6:30, but only cause I was there since 12 and I was at a lounge before that at 10...I remember you guys getting there much later than me!
