  2. Howells was amazing on sat night. I got there around 12. Although there weren't many people in the club, the people that were there seemed to be there to hear Howells spin. At around 3, it started to get packed. The crowd was more like Twilo wed, which I like better than Twilo Fri. I love the fact that it's 21 and over, instead of 18 and over. The music he played was better that any S & D night this year. He had the whole place dancing, even the chelsea boys that usually only dance to Junior's vocal house! It was actually nice seeing such a diverse crowd. Now that there are going to be top rate DJ's on sat (Howells, seaman, dave ralph), I might actually might stop going on fridays, (which I found to be too packed, too young, too many people fucked up) and go to saturdays instead (great music, way less crowded, 2 different dj's, free b4 1 with my Twilo card!)
  3. accrding to muzic magazine, i think a dj in england (pete tong, judge jules or oakenfold) made around 250,000 pounds for spinning at 4-5 parties on new years eve. I think it's in the jan or feb '00 issue. can some one confirm??
  4. Does anyone remember the 48hr Marathon @ the Tunnel with Junior?? The party started @ 11pm friday and ended sunday afternoon @ around 2:30. Junior was spinning both nights at the time. It was probably in 1996. Of one my friends at the time actually stayed for the whole thing!! He told me it totally emptied out saturday afternoon @ around 1pm and basically no one was @ the club from 1pm -8pm. (except of course security) (at this point, Junior just let a DAT play for a couple of hours) The tunnel offered them breakfast but they actually had to order in lunch. (tunnel is such a cheap ass) Anyway when junior came back sat night to spin again, he found out that my 2 friends stayed all through sat so Junior invited them up to the booth on sat night and all of them ordered pizza and hung out together all night!!

  7. when I'm bored, I just watch my collection of seinfeld re-runs that I recorded on tape. I look foward to 7:30 every day, so I can watch. I wish they would put simpsons @ 7 so I could watch both shows back to back. Seinfeld is definately was one of the best show ever!

  9. REMEMBER people, this Top 50 List is a popularity contest. All of the DJ's in the top 50 are amazing. This list does not really show "who's better than who", it's really "who's more popular than who". Everyone has different tastes in music. some like trance, some like house, some like DnB. It just happens to be that dark tech-house is really popular right now, so the DJ's that are known to play that genre are closer to the top 10. I am a little biased though. I'm at Vinyl every friday with Danny, and I must say he definately deserves the NUMBER ONE spot! Let's stop saying who's better than who! They are all good.
  10. MUZIK is published in the UK, so obviously europe has a bigger influence on the chart. A lot of people are complaining that PVD is ranked so low, but in England, his popularity has dropped considerably since LAST year. Gatecrasher was the "club of the year" in 1999. "Candy" Trance was popular LAST year (in Europe at least).... PVD is definately a great DJ. Just not one of the most popluar right now.. House and Tech-house, deep trance is what rules the clubs today. That is why the list is the way it is... Also, Junior might have made the list in '90-'92... not anymore Johnathan Peters will never make it on the list. No one outside NYC has heard of him. 12. My first club was the Red Zone with Dave Morales, i think around 1990. I occasinaly hit the original Sound Factory (now Twilo) with Junior in 1992,1993. But I really started clubbing when Junior started to spin @ the tunnel in 1994. I was there every week in the bedroom during 1994, 1995!! Those were the crazy days!
  13. emerald city was on 57th and 12th...where copacabana is now Glenn Frisia spun there I think @ hot 97 parties..
  14. speaking of old clubs, did anyone go to this club that was behind the palladium? It was actually in the same building, just the entrance was on 13th street. they used to play industrial/ new wave. I think I went around 1990, 1991. It had the same vibe as the building. I remember I opened one of the door in this club, and it opened up on the top level of palladium, above the stage, and you can look down on to the dance floor @ palladium. What was this club called, anyone remember?

  16. i was @ caffine a lot in '92.. That place was great... Micro and Onionz were spinning there.. The only thing I remember there was the outdoor deck and everybody on NO2!
  17. Did anyone see Danny dancing with the crowd during his GU CD premier? He had a water bottle in his hand and was in front of the speakers dancing his ass off!! I couldn't believe my eyes!! He was also going around saying hi to everyone on the dancefloor, making sure everyone was having a good time.... How many DJ's that are as big as Danny would do that??? Actually greet people on the dance floor? I have so much repect for the guy, He is just plain awesome!!!
  18. i know sasha was spinning till the end. My friend from London just told me an hour ago, that he heard on the radio 1 that diggers is pulling out of the festival.
  19. IT seems a lot of people on this board love "epic trance"....(tiesto, taylor, etc) It's funny that there aren't many local dj's spinning "epic trance" in the city.?! I on the other hand would like to hear: Hipp-E Steve Lawler Guy Ornadel
  20. It's has to be Manumission in IBIZA... I actually haven't been there in a couple of years but back in '97 the crowd was crazy.
