Yeah I've always been a fan of tribal house from the beginning (India - Love and Happiness, remember that one guys??)
My favorite TRIBAL HOUSE DJ....gotta give it up to DJ MERRITT of the Cafe Con Leche fame. His beatmixing is so flawless...anybody that has heard him will agree, and he really knows how to keep the flow and program his tracks properly.
Favorite DJ.....hmmmmm??? That's a tough one now. Gotta give props to Ojeda, locally, and Paul van Dyk, internationally....and JP for knowing how to work his crowd.

I must agree that the formatting of KTU's music does, well there's no other way to put it...SUCK! Not only do they start to play good songs after they're played out (i.e. spente, turn to you, etc) they kill whatever vibe you experience from hearing the song, with some wack ass Britney or Backstreet crap immediately following it.
I don't understand why the house music capital of the world can't have a radio station dedicated strictly to house music. From what I've been told, radio stations in South Beach play all house and even have live djs mixing all day. Why can't we have that here in NY?? I mean if we can have stations dedicated strictly to hip hop like Hot 97, then why not house??

I freakin hate that lady's voice. She's mostly on the mci/verizon/bell atlantic cell phone voicemails. Even after the person's vocal greeting you have to listen to her nonsense:

Trust me I know...I have djd there so many times it's upsetting. The dancefloor can hold at best maybe 80 people, you can't see out of the booth becuase you're behind some wack ass frosted glass (not that partygoers care about that). The place is wackkkkk. But I must admit that it has a pretty dope ass sound and lighting system for a small club (6 intellibeams, 10 trackspots, and 4 dataflash strobes that can make you blind as the lighting truss in maybe 10 feet above the ground). The club is closing in February if that means anything to it's caliber. Good luck with your party, just next time you want to talk about it say you're the promoter as opposed to making it look like it's the talk of the town.

I mean it was organized, in an "operational" sense...somebody posted a review about there being 50 bouncers and the sound and light system in place, the music thumping, etc. I'm dying to know what really went on....

Seriously...any info on this would be of help. It's a burning question in my mind to find out how they could have poured so much money into that place with the sound and light system from GSA, let alone install it in there only to have it all disappear after the disasterous opening night, and never hear a peep from that guy...DANNY G or whatever his name was. The website went down a couple of days after that mayhem too. Whatever happened to the idea of the club, and all the equipment that was in there??

The keyword in your post is "SEEN". Oakenfold's evolution since he started touring, especially here in NYC has seen him start at venues that were too small now to bigger places like Roxy and Roseland. I have never been to the Hammerstein, but people said it was just way too packed. Twilo....definitely won't work. And yes EXIT would definitely fuck up too, for management's shadiness and greed. Giant Step isn't stupid to go there and get jerked on their numbers like all the Exit promoters. They may get 4000 people and Exit will give them credit for 90...lol.
