1. This is getting boring.... let it go guys, nobody wins. The more you argue, the more you all lose. Lets get on with this already. Leave the guy alone. He's no where near the top of my list, but the guy has a strong following, a dedicated crowd and is making some serious loot for his productions. Though this may be mind boggling to some it is natural to others. Let burry this already. parish

3. Word. This DJ/club bashing has to simmer down. What ever floats your boat and keeps you afloat. Taste is subjective and opinions are like assholes, we all got one and we think it doesn't stink. These guys have all worked hard to get where they are at and I am sure that they would take it personaly. No need for that at all. cheers parish
4. CM, Have a great trip. Markus Schulz is the man out there, try to catch him if you can. He just opened a spot in Phoenix that is supposedly the best spot in the state. He is with plastic records and has done so may great remixes and productions. parish
5. Just wanted to know of anyone witnessed the wrath of the NYPD this past weekend. We are looking for comments from actual participants who were there and who were harassed, fondled, etc... The stories will be used in a feature on the site, so just send me a private message or post it below. parish
6. Jealous... shit that makes a long day longer... parish
7. Congrats on your resume! What I should have emphasied is that the writer was new to the NYC scene not clubbing in general. She is Scottish and has written for numerous UK dance publications. - As far as K on guido bicepes, whats that all about, if thats what you go out looking for then thats your perogative. We're not going to write about it. To each, his or her own. The 'Truth' in this case is subjective. There is too much negative press out about the ills of the scene, we know that it happens but why emphasize that. Focusing on the postive dude, thats it. -parish 'nothing but love for ya baby...'
8. I think you missed the point on the Tunnel article completely. Everyone from NYC and their older brother's eighth grade girlfriend have been to Tunnel more than once if they were old enough. We wanted to get a vigin or 'newbies' perspective on the night, the experience and how it felt to be there for the first time since the club was having a sort of 'grand opening.' There are many people new to that club and the experience now. Not everyone, and I am sure not most, of the people who were spending their weekends there during the Tunnels heyday are still around or want to do it again for that matter. So yes, from the opening line of the story you are told that it was the persons first time there and that she wasn't from NYC. Its called setting the tone. Far be it from someone with your vast club knowledge and ultra-biased attitude to appreciate it but it was meant for people coming up through the scene to educate them and turn them on to a new experience. And thats what I think makes for good clubbing and insures our future. Try hard to remember your first time there and how you felt something that soon became an addiction that you are still feeding today. Education is the key. Bashing clubbers, DJs, and people trying to promote the scene is destructive and we all suffer from it. If you wish to submit your review of the night and if it is legible and creative, we can possibly use it. Be proactive, its a better way to back up your bitchin. Parish- clubplanet.com education is key to our survival, mass media wants to eat us alive.
9. Yo Greg you should'd hit everyone off with that game you did to at www.buddylee.com -can't bust'em
10. hey dude, so were you. And since we are both from SI we have to meet again for some drinks on the local tip. The sound system was defintely new and much improved, loved it. Last week it was sounding pretty sore and I wasn't sure how it would pan out on Friday, but it was great. Just wish there more people there, otherwise I had a grat time. parish
11. the best part of it is that they use that money to bust up our clubs and put us back on the street. Whats up with that? parish
12. Politics boys, politics... We all know the game. parish 'big in japan'
13. I was thinking of Bayview terrace park near the ferry. Right off the boat with a view of the Manhattan skyline. Wolfs pond is to far in and may lead to problems with people coming in for it. Also a friend and I are doing a jam @ Midland in a few weeks that should be cool... I really want know what others think would be good for Brooklyn and Queens???? parish
14. As for Twilo, we love them and they love us. If you look at the music section on the site, we have done pieces on most of their artists, Freeland and Pappa as of recent with Seaman in the works. We have guestlists there that average pretty high numbers so there are no complaints in that deptartment either. parish
15. Hey guys, maybe I can put your arguement to rest. It costs nothing to be in the regular email. It is to promote lists we offer as well as cool parties that we hear of... ie. Touch party @Chaerla(no list there) or any parties @ Centro(no list there either). It also lets people know whats new on the site and all that. Special mailers are offered to promoters for a set fee. As for Guestlist money, what promoter does not want to get paid for their work? Its only fair. -parish if you ever need anything answered you can reach me @Tom@clubplanet.com
16. Congrats dude! Good to meet you on Friday @ Aria. How was the rest of your weekend? parish
17. Hey guys, They are all on rotation @ Twilo because they are all signed to the Balance roster. Balance books all their dates in the States:Pappa, Seaman, Parks& Wilson, Slacker, S&D, and most of the other DJ's at Twilo except Deep Dish, Cox and PVD. All the balance DJ's can only play @ Twilo because of a contract deal. Thats why you only hear certain DJ's there and nowhere else in the city. Pappa and Seaman are going to bedoing another night soon so I hear. There is a really dope Pappa set on Napster called live @ Renaissance, you guys should hear. parish
18. Here's what it said in the Post, Did they really hit all these spots? Anyone there? --- Cops busted 78 revelers and workers at some of the city's hottest nightclubs yesterday in a series of undercover raids aimed at the widespread sale of Ecstasy, police said. A small army of NYPD officers and drug-sniffing dogs swooped down at 11 nightspots, including the trouble-plagued Tunnel, late Friday night and early yesterday after club patrons and employees sold drugs to undercover narcotics cops, officials said. "Ecstasy is the drug of choice in these clubs , but the undercover cops also encountered cocaine, Ketamine [known as Special K] and marijuana," said Sgt. Andrew McInnis, a police spokesman. Among the clubs raided were: the Social Club, 302 E. 2nd St.; the Roxy, 515 W. 18th St.; Twilo, 530 W. 27th St.; Cheetah, 12 W. 21st St.; Ohm, 16 W. 22nd St.; Speed, 20 W. 39th St.; Exit, 610 W. 56th St.; and the Sound Factory, 618 W. 46th St. The operation's largest seizure was at Vinyl, at 6 Hubert St., where seven patrons and two employees were arrested and over $13,000 cash and several hundred pills of Ecstasy were seized. Cops also hit Tijuana Tom's, at 114 Greenwich St., where three separate undercover drug buys were made as part of a long-term investigation into the sale and use of Ecstasy, sources said. Also visited by the raiding party of cops was the Tunnel, at 220 12th Ave., where an unidentified number of club-goers were arrested outside. The club and its controversial owner, Peter Gatien, who was acquitted of federal drug conspiracy charges in 1996, have been frequent targets of NYPD and state authorities. Authorities have been battling to close the club ever since 18-year-old Jimmy Lyons died there of a drug overdose Jan. 24, 1999. Benjamin Brafman, Gatien's defense attorney, told The Post that the Tunnel maintains a strict no-drug policy on its premises - and that the city is holding the club to an unreasonable standard of enforcement. "We stand by the proposition that security at the Tunnel is the most severe of any comparable club in the city, and Mr. Gatien and the Tunnel management are deeply committed to keeping the Tunnel completely drug-free," Brafman said. "I think it is important, however, to keep in mind that no industry or area of this city is completely drug-free, and it is simply not fair to keep the nightclub industry to a much higher standard than applied anywhere else." 23. i WAS f-iNg pissed, I went @ quater to five with some heads and the place was padded up. It was a total shock. Why of all the places in the city was Vinyl choosen? I think that the situation was probably worse at maany other places. I a not a regular there on Friday, so I can't say, Is it that bad/obvious the drug traffic to warrant something like that? If this is the story of things to come, we are going to have some bad times ahead of us. parish
24. The ladies were pretty fly last week even though I was only there after 2 for like 20 minutes. Not just saying that either...p
