  1. JOIN US FEB 17th AS CROBAR "EVOLVES" INTO STUDIO MEZMOR WITH VICTOR CALDERONE! www.myspace.com/studiomezmor note: if the link fails to re-direct you, please cut & paste After a successful three years as New York City's #1 super-club, the Chelsea nightlife institution at 530 W. 28th Street is reborn as Studio Mezmor. Saturday, February 17th will be a grand launch party featuring Victor Calderone and DJ Vibe. The new name is a tip of the hat to the building's original tenant, Colonel Francis Messmore, whose manufacturing firm designed immense theater props, movie sets, and animatronic dinosaurs in the massive warehouse space. The larger-than-life theatrics continue at Studio Mezmor, which will be the premier event space for a wide variety of entertainment needs. Big-room clubbing, private events on a grand scale, film and video shoots, live concerts, art gallery events, and fashion shows, all will coexist under one very big roof. The venue has undergone a re-imagining, with improvements to the sound, video, and lighting. The main room's architecture is 10,000 square feet of column free, gritty dance floor, with 35 foot ceilings and amazing sightlines. The 2nd floor Mezzanine, ground level VIP, and front room have all been designed into lush VIP bottle areas, providing intimate space for upscale guests to explore. Dance music fans will have their weekend Mecca for all things electronic. The owners have created a mission statement dedicated to quality music, exceptional customer service, and multi-sensory entertainment for a sexy, big room experience that is unique in New York City. "We are the New York home to the world's best DJs and parties," says Music Director and nightclub industry vet Eric Ortense. "We've got DJs Danny Tenaglia, Tiesto, Victor Calderone, Roger Sanchez, Deep Dish, Pete Tong and Paul Oakenfold, all under one roof. Hands down, we are the undisputed heavyweight champion of NYC nightlife."
  2. No, its at the Summerstage which is a gated area
  3. Just wondering if anyone had seen Paul Oakenfold spin lately? All my friends in Hawaii saw him at a club last weekend and said he was wasted and one trainwreck after another. They wished they could have gotten there money back they said he was sooo bad!! Other than his huge attitude, whats happened to him???
  4. I never said what he plays now is as hard as back in 95-98 when he was at his best. But truth be told...he still plays hard (if not as hard) and the place goes insane when he goes on!! And yeah...I am from the West Coast and Midwest scenes (Los Angeles, San Francisco, Denver, and Hawaii). And ugh...how can you include Bad Boy Bill in a list with DJ Dan and Terry Mullan!?!??!?! That's just wrong!
  5. I pay $660 a year at Bally's, but my membership allows me to go to Crunch! You are getting ripped off man.
  6. He was awesome at the Naked party a week ago in Hawaii, so just because you may not have seen him in a while doesn't mean isn't good any more! He still drops some hard f*cking beats!!
  7. Yeah it's going to be a wicked night. Haven't seen them together since their last time in New York together at the benefit party at Cipriani. Anyways, look for me in the VIP area and say hi.
  8. Yeah it starts at 10pm and before Sasha and Digweed go on, their Bedrock label mate and amazing DJ Jimmy Van M will be spinning. He is who always opened for them at Twilo.
  9. Last night at Spirit was awesome! I have been dissapointed with the club scene the past few years and am glad a few new superclubs like this are now gracing up with their greatness. I thought the vibe last night was excellent. I met so many great people as I danced all night till just about closing. Even the fashion crowd was very cool and friendly. Boris played a great set, and better yet Cameron Douglas played an amazing opening set. That was Cameron right? Kevin
  10. didnt know it was happening. Whats the 411? Also anything happening at Crobar on Sunday night?
  11. Yes I'm so there. Is there any dresscode? Are jeans or sneakers ok?
  12. Well I will be there....taking a friend whos visiting from Hawaii. It's her first time in New York and I thought I would show her a proper superclub!!
