  1. what are you talking about? relax.
  2. quick blurb, feels pretty nice to be lumped in with this dj. bigshotmag.com/5releases.html text: Mixed by Deepak Sharma, Brooklyn.3:23PM draws its influence from the sounds of the same-named Williamsburg, Brooklyn lounge/hipster nightspot and delivers heaps of moody, blissed-out grooves. Over the span of 14 tracks culled from labels all over the world, Sharma indulges us in some of the most pristine minimal techno we've heard in ages. This is mandatory late-night/morning after listening. Not since Terry Francis' Architecture series has a mix compilation explored the realm of tech-house so well. i would like to say thanks to those who have supported the cd so far and for those who haven't to check it out! 6. Join me on the second Wednesday of each month on www.eccentricbeats.com for The Hidden Sessions - a radio show where you can hear hour long mixes from myself and guests. The first show is Wednesday January 12th from 2pm-4pm EST. That's today!!! 2pm-3pm - Deepak Sharma Live From Europa Part 1 3pm-4pm - John Tejada / Palette Recordings / Los Angeles Next show: Wednesday February 9th with Phil Stumpf / Duplex 100 / Festplatten / Minimal Dancin' / Paris About Deepak Sharma: Please visit www.hidden-nyc.com Deepak Sharma’s debut CD “Boogaloo. Brooklyn. 3:23pm†is the first of its kind to be released by an American DJ. Deepak compiled tech-house and minimal techno from Germany, Spain and Detroit and arranged them in such a way to tweak your mind. The compilation reflects Deepak’s softer sound and received high praise from Time Out New York who called it “Lush and soothing.†A similar sentiment was shared by dance music website Xpander as they described the CD as “A mesmerizing trip and seamlessly weaved.†Mazi, one of the world’s most respected DJs and producers called the CD, “Good cerebral chilled out after-hours fair.†Music labels such as Trapez, Shitkatapult, Regular, Boxer, Dial, Onitor, Areal, Italic, Plong and Z-Schallplatten are featured, illustrating Deepak’s vast knowledge of music. ************* writes, “Deepak's musical gift lies in the album's ability to traverse a broad musical canvas, the range of music offered is astounding coming from all areas of the globe, this is a DJ who feels the rhythm in his bones." Deepak is at the forefront of American DJs that play this sound and with the CD’s nationwide release his unique and infectious style is spreading. The CD has also found its way to Europe. Night Magazine, UK said it’s a “Darkly beautiful soundscape of edgy beats and blips to chill you out after a heavy night.†The CD is just one aspect of Deepak’s sound. His deep, pounding techno has energized crowds late into the night at venue across North America as he has headlined in cities such as New York, Montreal, Philadelphia, Washington DC, San Diego and Richmond. Deepak’s ability to throttle the dancefloor is unwavering, and an experience you won’t soon forget. He was once asked, “Why do you play so angry, yet you are so relaxed and laid back as a person?†Deepak replied, “Let’s see how far you can push the crowd and how far they want to take it.†Deepak has shared the bill with many of the world’s elite DJs, including Craig Richards, Lee Burridge, FC Kahuna, Mazi, Ralph Lawson, Tigerhook and Steve Porter. While the world is still learning about Deepak Sharma, there are many out there who feel his ability as a DJ is second-to-none. His fans should be happy to hear the CD is just the beginning. Deepak’s schedule is filling up in 2005 starting with a monthly radio show on www.eccentricbeats.com named “The Hidden Sessions†where he will showcase his mixes along with guests. Find out more about what makes Deepak tick in his interviews with www.residentadvisor.net and www.clubplanet.com, two of the world’s leading electronic dance music websites. Check your club's upcoming lineup to catch this innovative DJ in electronic dance music. About John Tejada: Please visit www.paletterecordings.com Normally associated with his peers in Techno from Detroit, Europe and elsewhere in the US and the world, John Tejada has embraced electronic music as a personal frontier, expanding on his formidable resume as a Techno recording artist — as producer and remixer, DJ, and label owner. With dozens of singles, remixes, some film and TV work and contributions to sample CDs to his credit, this recent expansion has born a slew of tracks deeply informed by his uncompromised aesthetic — honed over years of diligent production — which finds its roots in Detroit Techno but references a far broader range of music, both in and outside of electronic music. His musically formative years were steeped in Classical music, growing up in family of performing artists--his mother a soprano singer and his father a conductor — which then widened to include hip hop, DJing and finally, electronic music. Known for crafting a brand of subtle, musical techno, his recorded output ranges across tempo and genre lines, from chilled out affairs with spacious arrangements to pulsating, densely layered, deeply energetic tracks that work magnificently in the hands of DJs as well as on the home stereo. Earlier on, his music found release on labels such as A13, Multiplex and Generation R&S. Following on to those successes, he established his own imprint, Palette, in Los Angeles, in 1996, and has enjoyed six years of steady growth and recognition. The label has served as an exclusive outlet for his own prodigious output but has recently begun to expand its roster. He has also continued to record for other labels such as Plug Research, Seventh City, Moods and Grooves, deFocus, Sino and others, often in collaboration with 11 year long collaborator Arian Leviste, and alongside these numerous singles, has also produced eight albums; two for A13, and one each for Playhouse, deFocus, Plug Research, Moods and Grooves and Palette.

The compilation, “Boogaloo, Brooklyn. 3:23 pm,†can't be characterized by a single musical style. Simply put, it’s trippy headmusic, perfect for coming down after a long night, or listening to in the car on the journey home. Brooklyn had never seen a place like Boogaloo when Chance Johnston opened the doors to the sleek lounge in January 2002. Its long white bar, performance space and rooftop make it the perfect spot to hold a variety of shows including live bands and DJ sets featuring everything from electronica to punk to retro to underground hip-hop. “Boogaloo is a space where friends and strangers can be comfortable, let their hair down, and enjoy the diverse choice of music that we offer,†Johnston said. Williamsburg's own Deepak Sharma compiled and mixed the CD. The acclaimed DJ gathered tracks from minimal techno and tech house havens Germany, Spain and Detroit for the compilation. The mix features songs selected from record labels such as Trapez, Traum, Shitkatapult, and Regular. Each track has its own unique sound, ranging from soft-rolling pads and warm synths to crunchy, glitchy and bleepy elements, to form a mind-altering musical piece. “The music on the CD really reflects the style I enjoy playing at Boogaloo, and the laid-back vibe of the neighborhood we live in.†Sharma said. Fans of Radiohead, Tyrant, Plastikman, Ricardo Villalobos, Swayzak and Ellen Allein will connect with “Boogaloo, Brooklyn 3:23 pm.†Those who enjoy the Buddha Bar, Paris Lounge and Fabric series will seek out this CD. Boogaloo has received rave reviews in trend-setting publications such as the Village Voice and Vice. Time Out New York listed Boogaloo as one of New York City’s Top 100 nightspots in 2004. The editors at Citysearch.com in its 2004 survey named Boogaloo as the number one lounge in New York City, and also ranked it number one for best DJs and best bar in the Web site's coveted readers poll. Sharma takes pride in his knowledge of a wide array of music and understanding the how each set is built differently to connect with the crowd. Sharma has built a following by playing parties small and large throughout New York City and beyond. He kicks off a North American tour to promote the CD at Montreal’s legendary Stereo Nightclub. Some of the talent Sharma has teamed with includes Lee Burridge, Craig Richards, FC Kahuna, Ralph Lawson, Mazi, Tigerhook, and Steve Porter. Hope to catch you guys at Dragonfly and Local 16! Deepak:)

  20. got some pics here from the in-store dj set at virgin and also later that night at crobar, but mostly of my gigs this past weekend in san diego. for those who came to virgin and crobar - many thanks and to those who have picked up the cd - even more thanks for the support. san diego was ridiculous - met up with some good friends and my boy out there is rocking the west coast big time with his many different parties. one of my boys flew in from vegas from a trade show (he was out there for work) and flew back the next morning - meaning he was in sd for 9 hours. it was that kind of weekend. friday i played at ventanes instead of airport (cabaret issues) - a lounge downtown - the turntable on the hudson boys played there on saturday night. really dope lounge, great decor and the night went off really well, but was just a tease for saturday night. On Broadway is a massive venue that has 4 different rooms. I was on the mainfloor which reminding me of ruby skye a bit in San Fran. They have a growing scene in sd and I can't wait to go back!!!! enjoy http://www.ofoto.com/BrowsePhotos.j...id=951174177105
