  1. I like the ones that break right when you are about to get off.
  2. The locker sounds phat guys. 31trax and counting after one night. Crucial Ups! I got a huge list for later when I get off work. Check out downloading the "myplay dropbox" available from downloads.com It makes upping songs a lot easier. Just highlight and drop and the proggie does the rest. Only problem is the fucker is unreliable.
  3. i was doin some research on Dumonde and apparently Dumonde is a production team made up of DJ Jam X and De Leon. I went to their official web site but it was in german. So... Dumonde = Jam & De Leon? Only JamX Dj's?
  4. ahh Mane, you have to keep current with your DJ's... On Friday night, [March 18th 2001] Radio 1 staged the biggest battle of the DJs ever held. 8 of the world's finest DJs went head to head in a battle for turntable supremacy. Only one emerged victorious. Fergie. The king of all DJs... other Djs in contest: Carl Cox Judge Jules Seb Fontaine Fergie Darren Emerson Fatboy Slim Jon Carter Lottie true there was no sasha, diggers, pvd or oakie, but This was judged and voted for by the listeners of the biggest radio station in the UK, and not some cheesy critics. I also read somewhere in the end of 2000, that Fergie was the #1 up and coming DJ. I guess by 2001, he IS proabably #1. Maybe this poll only includes the UK and no foreign markets.
  5. some overseas djs for yah: DJ Fergie Judge Jules Mauro Picotto Billy Nasty these are my favs right now. Fergie was rated number 1 dj this year. spinds uk hard house with a trancy twist
  6. just getting started. check the music forum page for details. ---thanx
  7. Ok Guys/Gals: Since I missed out on the other myplay locker opportunity, and I along with most others on the music forum, am a music nutcase, I am going to start one up today. If your are unfamiliar with myplay, it is basically a place to store mp3s on the web and be able to have access to them wherever there is a computer. Now, I have access to some music pre-release, so I am sure everyone will have interest in this locker, but before I even go over the rules, I want to state something about sharing music. I've been on other music sharing boards and they all thrived on a sense of community within. No bickering, no griping, just everyone helping each other out with requests and promos, and without using the locker with negative intent. This is an opportunity for everyone to give and take. This does not mean leeching is bad, but I am asking that if you have something you feel is hot!, share it with the rest of us. If we all follow that, then there could be two or three huge lockers very soon. Enough philosophy, here are the guidelines: 0. PM me with your email address for locker entry details 1. Music in locker should be dedicated to Hard Trance/Hard House/Vocal House - very typical of the music we hear at the clubs we attend 2. Feel free to upload and download as you wish. The more you upload, the bigger the locker gets. 3. PLease no Duplicate songs 4. When uploading, please correctly edit the name, title/mix and feel free to include your name in the album section so we know who is helping us out the most 5. Don't be obnoxious when downloading. D/L a few songs at a time 6. Feel free to post a request, and someone will try and fill it Well, thats pretty much it. I have a small locker open right now, and can't really get it going until I get home from work. Send me a PM if you are interested.
  8. hrrrmmm...i was looking for a Twilo guestlist in fall 99 since I didn't know any promoters at the time, and viola! Mostly lurked around for a year or so and just started posting this summer [cause of boringass work =(] . Its been great so far!
  9. I have the same needles. i put them all the way back, for house records. I read that hip hop dj.s put them at 3/4s distance and some even angle the needle so that it sits at a certain degree with the tonearm. Search google for needle setting and you'll find tons of info. Also, I find that backcueing has nothing to do with the needle, but more with the record. If the record is wobbly or not pressed perfectly flat, the needle will jump while backcueing
  10. Thurs nite at Webster Hall is nothing more than OK. I think it is ladies night, but there are still more guys, and the crowd isn't really "with it" However, Ricky Corbo [who I believe is the resident] was playin some dope dope house beats and I enjoyed bouncin around with plenty of elbow room. Overall, Thurs nite would be good to go out with a large group, where you don't have to rely on the crowd.
  11. Finesse, Don't let me down again this week. In the meantime, I'm gunna get on the herrrn and try to work some magic again......Let me just crack open this little black book i have over here.
  12. I think Mykonos is waay over-rated. Santorini is amazing for the atmosphere, but the nightlife is just good. I would rather you check out the island of Rhodes and the village of Faliraki within it. It is like a mob scene of party goers every night. There is a huge club, and two or three other smaller clubs right there too, but I forget the names.
  13. I read this in the Post today "DJ Junior Vasquez lost his Jack Russel dog "Griffin," being walked the evening of July 18 in Chelsea, slipped his leash and ran into traffic. He mightav been hit, might be hurt but kept running. He's 2. He's friendly. Hopefully some kind New Yorker rescued him Vasquez is devasted. Anyone knows anything, call me at The Post."
  14. Rdancer: For ATB - Let You go....(BMI Prod) has nothing to do with the producers/remixers of the song. BMI is an mp3 group that releases songs on the internet. BTW...phat list otherwise..Cafe Del Mar is one of my favs
  15. Soprano: Dumonde, Jam X and DeLeon are all f-ridiculous. Everything they remix or produce solo is off the chain. I can't believe they havent been in our house yet cauz they would blow the roof off. My favs are "Tomorrow" and "See the Light" I still check the rave posters to see if they make an appearance, but still nothing. Some of these promoters are smoking crack for booking Nostrum instead of them.
  16. Also, I think producers leak their white labels to all the big DJ's and radio shows so they can generate some buzz on the song before it comes out. If enough Buzz was generated, when the song is finally released most clubbers and non-connected dj's will consider the song a "must have" and will buy it immediately before it gets too old. Translates to more money for the labels. Only problem with that is when a song finally gets released, its rotation life gets reduced considerably unless a remix comes out.
  17. i was asking the same question on the newyork board. Is it down for good? I subscribed to the newsletter, but no response. Did they relocate and not tell anyone?
  18. got the address, but let me get this straight. Five doesnt open until 3am? What goes on there before then? music? What kind of dress code is it?
  19. pangelid

    address

Hey guys/gals I'm visiting DC and was wondering what the street address is to club 5? I need it so I can get directions from New York. Thanx!!
  20. For the same reason they don't allow cameras into clubs. In the offchance that someone films an illegal act in the background, that shit can be used as evidence against the club.
