ive been livivg in philly for about 6yrs now and saw them in some ghetto area about 4 years ago. Real low budget operation, i saw a truck of theres once. it was real old and had this potatoe DJ graffiti on it that was on the bags. Is he still on them? real funny stuff

staying home. after about 7 years of being a zombie on Tg day, i think ill opt for quality time with the fam. by 25 i dont have the need to go out just cuz everyone else is. Iwas out there in June and while I polled alot of people out there and went to Rain, it was one of the worst clubs iwas ever too. Their music format consisted of about 45 minutes of commercial rap garbage followed be 30 min. sets of low grade dance music(i mean really low grade, ktu or lower) Drais at the barbary coast was definately an off the hook afterhours,good vibe, good people, crackhouse.I hear Ra is good for normal hours

A good friend of mine used to go to the club by himself if noone else would go. Now as much as I love the music, dancing, party favors, and yes making new friends, right before i decide to head out alone, I pause and think what fun is it if my peeps aren't there to share it with me. Like anything inlife good times are all the much better when shared with those you care about and vice versa.

I too was also anxiously awaiting to hear these beloved classics but then i started to think. being a month away from the date dont you think the promoters would be well, promoting. ok lets say with construction and all opening on time isnt definate do you think junior is going to reserve this day for something that as far as we know aint happenen for the kind of dough he demands?wishful thinking for now

door policy. most places lack these now a days.I dont mean sneakers vs shoes either. this is what made ARENA such agreat club. the guidos could pair their finest black pants with their finest black shirts and get the boot. thus the crowd inside was not only beautiful, but full of energy. NOBODY stood still in that place for 1 second.

I havent actually purchased it yet but ive done extensive research and reason 2.0 is an awesome package. you can definately run your midis off it and it also has drum machines, synths and just about everything else you need. for $279 why not have some flexibility and extra toys.

the deep house/techno show is on friday nights 10:30 PM to 1AM (I used to run a 90 min tape from 11:30 -1) Monday nights at the same time is "the candy store" a house show which actually got me listening to the station back in 95 or so but while it used to be my fav, i'm unsure of the state of good old fashioned house these days. tuesday is kind of a mix of all sorts of dance music but honestly i havent listened in a while so i dont really know about tuesday definatively. theres a rap show and something else the other two nights during the week, all at the same time slot. all are definately worth checking out. 89.1 FM (hopefully back on the web soon at www.fridayniteexpress.com) PEACE

I hope everybody out there knows about 89.1 FM NYU's radio station friday night show The Friday Night express. Ive been listening to it for about 7 years and it is bar none the best. DJ extradonare Ron Anthony regularly has the areas top DJ's and he himself blazes the hottest tunes in the city often weeks before anybody out there in clubland does.Keep it real, keep it underground, I've never listened to KTU and hate seeing it water down dance the way 97 watered down house. I see all these posts with "old school legend". If you want it to stay good, keep it underground. DONT BE WHACK!

does anyone remember the song junior used to play for like an hour. it sort of sounds like the intro music to a sunday sports tv show. he changed this song up every which way and it was the bomb! sort of a stringed orchestra symphony sound. dun-dada--dun-dun-dundada over&over:confused:

ive been in philly for 5 years and was wondering where all the old Arena heads go to these days. I cant imagine anything as good with as much energy. All my peeps back home hit the usual, factory, centro fly, exit. How is junior at Earth? Is it the same?

can somebody help the casbah in AC out? like send them a decent DJ. Me and my friends were there this weekend and couldnt even force ouselves to dance. I mean the crowds always decent with heads from back north but the music is wack!
