i'm 1/2 chinese 1/2 american (white). my parents did get some problems from their parents & family members, but i guess that seems to be the trend.. that the opponents of interracial couples primarily tend to be relatives. anyway, for me, no i've had no problems.

trendy? the broken beat has been around for a long long time. break beats is what influenced jungle (the Amen break, etc etc) and jungle was "hardcore" (which was breakbeat) before it became jungle. i don't know about calling it "trendy"... I mean, a certain style of breakbeat that tends to have certain kinds of sounds in it, yes, maybe.. but breaks, as far as the actual beat is concerned, comes in all shapes and sizes -- you've got a million genres of breaks (nu skool, florida, old school, electro, etc) and plus you hear breakbeats in all kinds of modern music -- pop, funk, etc. breaks has already proven it's staying power just in the fact that break beats exist in so many forms of music. so while "breaks" (the dance music, not general break beats) does have it's own sound and is new, break BEATS ain't goin' no where...

http://www.hearnet.com website for musicians about hearing. there's info on all different kinds of earplugs and pricing as well as locations to purchase. please protect your hearing, hearing loss is PERMANENT!! i have a pair of custom-molded earplugs. cost about $129 -- a bit pricey, true, but so worth it. you can get foam earplugs at duane reade or whatever, they're cheap but sound like shit. you can also get wax ones they're disposable & cheap, i've never used them, don't know how they sound. the custom-molded ones fit your ear perfectly, don't hurt (bit tricky to insert at first though), and have a flat attenuation filters -- not perfect, but pretty good -- you hear the full range of frequencies, just quieter. BTZ - unfortunately, yes, it's going to conflict, as both are on wednesday nights. the thing is, we didn't have a choice about the night, wednesday was the one we were offered so we took it. i mean, it's pretty ideal, it's only like two blocks from the astor place train station, they offered to pay for flyers, it's a nice venue.. mike was going to try to move his party since it was only bi-weekly, but now it looks like his is going weekly..? i'm still not clear on that. but anyway, this party is for the manhattan heads, like myself. bklyn is just too far for me. lucky for mike he lives around the corner from level x. it takes me an hour to get home (or a $25 cab ride!) so yes, unifortunately they will conflict but hopefully soon one of us will be able to move our party to another night, it wasn't my intention to have the parties clash it's just what ended up happening. more info on this party and others in the nyc area coming soon at www.big-apple-breaks.com. and Kris, yes, how could i forget? you are The Krisgale. but you know, you're just a figment that doesn't exist anyway...
