  1. Pete, you are in rare form today. must be those sobe drigznigs
  2. They actually didn't want trance. They asked for "Peppy House". Personally, I just love music and have fun playing. I'll do whatever people ask and have a ball. If they wanted me to drop trance, hell I'd do it. If it was simply up to me, I'd have played the same music last night... it seemed to fit well.
  3. wait till I hit the mainroom petey Trance has a place, and it's not 9:30 on a Wednesday. Imagine... you'd have to dose like right after work just to be in the right mindest.
  4. dzadza, I'd have to go home, listen to the CD and dig through my crates. I could tell you what every album looks like if you want.. I think I'm going to do that tonight and post it. I don't think any one person will know all of the tracks... it's pretty obscure stuff generally... ask tyco. oh and mikey... I'll try to follow my vision.
  5. 2k1 lounge - ergo the desire to keep it housey. I'm very much of the mindset that the context has a lot to do with how music sounds. The lounge is not a space for trance music in my mind. It's all about bumpy sweaty house. main floor? different story. I'd really open it up in there. I think it has to do with lighting and ceiling height on the most part. It's hard to fly when you can only rise 2 feet.
  6. Now you're making me wonder if I really shouldn't play trance at Twilo.
  7. tyco - glad you liked it. that track is called "junkyard funk" don't remember who does it. I have it on an FM promo, don't know if it ever made it out. And you know my style - A side always down baby... gotta keep the trainspotters guessing. danwang - I do think it's a bit of a better deal. Lower pressure, more time to relax and settle into a groove, still awesome exposure and the CHANCE TO PLAY TWILO (sorry, I can't help but scream every time I say that). Al - I'm sure we can arrange something Brandie - lemme know dear - you've got all my info. I'll being playing the Lep on Saturday.
  8. It scares me how many of those names I've seen. I should submit that list to the I.R.S. as a tax deduction.
  9. brandie dearest, are you coming on Saturday? If yes, telephone me and remind me to bring you a CD okay? okay.
  10. Not finalist, but first of the second stringers babe. 2.5 hour opening set (9:00-11:30) Wednesday April 18th. I expect you in full effect sugar puss. spongy out
  11. uhm, this is going to sound really bad Do I know you guys and not know your names here?
  12. My CD was totally different. I submitted over the top epic trance mixed with techno. I intend to play Deep & tech house at Twilo, but that may change. we'll see thanks for coming out btw... I appreciate the support and kind words.
  13. Just when I think there's no reason to come back, I feel the love that I know can only be found on the good ole CNYC board. *sigh* love you guys
  14. got my tickets last night... I'm dj'ing at the Lep till 11:30/12 so won't get out there till at least 1am. I guess I'll miss all you cats. If you see a bright yellow Ecko hat, that's me, say hey. later d ps - if anyone wants to come by the Leopard Lounge for a drink or somethin before hand, please drop by. It's free (but unfortunately 21+)
  15. it's downstairs (the upstairs is a serious fag romp), the sound is penetrating (they really push that little system), the music is great - mostly 2 step with some other sounds thrown in for good measure. The crowd is NY clubbing elite. All in all good clean fun for a sunday evening (I think it only goes till 1 or so).
  16. dreem teem http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/urban/index_garage.shtml
  17. What's your damage? How's that freaky? It's a club full of law breakers... (including the management). Why WOULDN'T the cops be there? Wake the fuck up. You think the laws stop when you enter the club?
  18. technically speaking Two step garage is most closely related to speed garage and both are close cousins to jungle. They both play at the speed of upbeat house music, but each borrows different elements from jungle. Speed garage takes a house beat and lays the syncopated snares from jungle over it, making sound slightly like a breakbeat, but it's strictly a 4/4 house beat. Two Step garage take the two step jungle beat and slows it down then lays the snares from your standard 4/4 house rythm over top. It also borrows some elements from oldskool hardcore and happy hardcore by taking old 80's tracks and simply remaking them into a two step track. that's the technical take anyway.
  19. doooood I lub my dub unbeatable working music
  20. were you working last night at 7:30 when I bought my tickets?
  21. okay B, we'll see if you say the same thing come this Sunday morning.
  22. geesh, so much fuss. I can feel the pressure building like a gargantuan lead weight upon my shoulders. Alas, I don't know if I'm worthy of this task. Oh to play records. whatever, Brandie hit it on the nose, I'm much better in bed doing what I do best... sleeping. Artful - Saturday 10 till around midnight at the lep. I'll put you on the list. Where tf have you been lately btw?
  23. the trance players on the bill are some of the best out there for the real trance styles. don't go expecting Twilo/SnD/PVD boring progressive crap
