well, it's scheduled for release this fall, with full telivision and print ad starting in the summer. Posters and teasers will be hitting theatres in the next few weeks. patience boys (and girls)

OMG - Just got back fromt he Ban-Dai showroom tour at toy fair, and they showed the trailer for the Final Fantasy movie + interviews with actors and stuff. Uhm, wow. Full photo-real CGI. Makes Toy Story look like a Tom n Jerry cartoon. This is gonna be a cool flick. I wish I was a gaming nerd so I knew what it was about. Oh, and if anyone is interested - 3 New Gundham Series are coming for next year, with all new models and action figures. Also Power Rangers travel through time to the future. They have this awesome new motorized transforming Mega-Zord (awesome!!).

I don't believe that innovation has ever been a product of commercialization. If anything it tends to homogenize and stagnate. Though it is possible to be innovative in a commercial setting, that likelyhood is small. In my opinion, true creativity, and diversity can only be found in the fringes, so far from the mainstream that thought can be expressed without judgement or ridicule or with one eye on the bottom line. Commercialization is not bad per-se. I just think that people have to fess up to the fact that it really does mean the death of something with respect to its cultural purity. I don't think you can maintain mainstream popularity and true innovation creativity at the same time. Just my thoughts - sick of work too.

Well kids, today is my 1 year anniversary in this town, and it's been quite a year. I'm not sure if anything is better. If I found what I came looking for, or even if I was looking for anything when I came. I do know I've banged the corners in the emotional spectrum. I've had my best and worst times all in that short span. I've known no one and pined away for everything I'd left in Toronto. I've made great friends and felt on top of the world and in control of my destiny. sometimes I just didn't care If anything I've gained a little perspective. New York ain't all that... but it certainly is something. The most interesting thing about this city, is just about everyone is in this same boat. Anyway, I'm glad I'm here, and glad I've met the people in my life now. I know I'd probably be back home (or plunged in the depths of depression) right now if not for the people I have as friends. So thanks guys. Maybe I'll be able to squeeze out another year with your help. Till next year then... dean
