Suprizingly enuff we have maybe 30 left!

The Marina itself has its own lil comitee. and i assure you they are not the type of people that Welcome nightlife with open arms. for years they have been trying the screw waterWORKS. rumor has it, when the comitee got wind that Jamn94.5 had a night there, and then we did a show with ED Og & Slain they WERE NOT HAPPY. luckily we have a "pass" cause the people that own waterCLUB also own Siros, ect ect ect.... So, they by the end of September the fate of waterWORKS will be decided. granted EVERY year they say their building a hotel there. But I have a feeling with them being down the last 2 years Its not helping..... But, its like anything that succeeds around here that has a bit of hiphop in it. eventually the disrespecting, we rule the world, no consequences for our actions people start showing up and ruining it.... (which is only good news for us house folks) (FYI) fights are WAY up this year. but thats what happens when you add alot more people to the mix ESPECIALLY when the "Pat Flannagann's" crowd comes down to the Marina. we've been lucky though... we have very few. usually they happen between the doors and the Parkinglot when 3 places spill a ton of drunk people into the parking lots

So, here we are....5 days. As everyone is more than aware on 9-11 we had one of the most horrific events in the history of mankind. Its not a stretch to think that it will be mentioned in the same breath as many of the tragedies that have come and gone since the beginging of civilization. Most people would agree, that mourning is healthy. But there comes a time when Mouning shall pass and we must celebrate life, celebrate what people have lost and given to ensure that we can lie in our beds every nights knowing our families will be safe. More importantly we need to do what we can to help those who have fallen, and still are trying to recover from the 9-11 attacks. Each one of the DJs, promomotional companies, and other companies involved have graciously donated both time, effort & even products to help get this benefit off the ground. And I thank each of them. Hey Gang... Just thought Id drop a lil blurb if you havent been down. 1. if its nice out...plan to get there by 11. thats when we've been capping on the nice Fridays & Saturdays..sometimes on a good thursday....last few weeks we had the door shut off at 1045. Im pretty sure we do about 500+ (all of the parts of the club) 2.You know I like funky house & Breaks, and I always have a lil "emergency" bag of em with me... but dont come over and iterupt my heat-rock-straight-fire-reggeton set to hear the cowbell breaks mix.... AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA maybe aftermidnight...depends how lone I can fight off my ADHD 3. Were in the Midst of a new soundsystem...Over the next few weeks were piecing it together... Its what I like to call Ghetto-RIgged at the moment. its plenty loud, but I wouldnt get to close to some of the wires coming out of the back of the amp 4. Hiphop is the order of the night. Sadly we all know how boston is. well, this is quincy... suck it up. The talent more-than makes up for it. (though I try to drop some REAL old school, and some of the 128bpm stuff out now, more "party-hop" and I try to keep the 50ct & Biggie servings to 1 a night...as to doing "an hour of 50") 5. Guests... yeah a few of my friends cover on nights. ie. Mike Knyte on 7-16 & Paul Dailey on 7-30 (But u didnt hear that from me..hahahahaha Paul drops Hiphop like Tony Toca yo!) I do Thursday, Friday... Its just namebrand markup when you look at a RANE, VESTAX,ALLEN&HEATH OR A UREI.... timetested quality, performance & the fact that they are the standard install everywhere you go. effects are great for making mix cds, and even some of the smaller venues might have a Pioneer 4-channel... but its not coincidence why the pro audio gurus always look to these brands. 3 HOURS LEFT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yeah, bro no debate, I aprreciate your opinion on the pioneer, and the rane. I think over time you will see that you almost "get sick" of the effects I have an efx, for 2 years it got a serious work out...now it collects dust. in this particular situaion Ive retired my efx, and will be using the 3rd Turntable....

I liked the Pioneer, i got to test em all in atlantic city last year. Pioneer cant crack the 2 channel market, Rane & Vestax have got it locked. They were practically giving them away at the guitar center sale this winter... new in the box for under 300.00 Now I can see Comparing the 909... But the 707 is a low to mid-level mixer..I think when it came out it was only 499.00 I think anyone who has used these mixer can testify to sound quality alone between Rane & Pioneer...and by now we all know...you get what you pay for. I got this one direct from rane....I paid 7something. Worth Every penny

Thanks...If they made a tt56 3/4 Line Id get it... But I need another line ya know? Indeed, the Flex system by Rane is killer for use with an EFX or Kaoss Pad... Some even argue, like me, thats it better than using the onboards on the Pioneer 700. Its pretty rediculous how precise control over effects it provides...

Its kinda hard to explain to someone who hasnt been there the crowd is a few notches above the usual WW riff Raff. but this year, we have been hittin capacity on every night its nice out. so, Ive notced some of the meatballs. cant have that many people with out a few, ya know? theres 3 sections...the bar on the pier. the upstairs & downstairs. very lounge ish... but we are in the process off adding 2000watts of sound to the room.... so were slowly making moves (from a djs perspective in the right direction) musically, its like most of my residencies...reading the crowd. which right now, means hiphop & reggae.... the talent is DEF top shelf, and the the vibe is party. now that were turning away so many people after 11pm, we are gonna start to weed out the meatballs a lil better. of course this benefit is goin to be all EDM....but that goes without saying Im there thursday & Friday and a local guy, greg does saturday & sunday (mike knyte fills in on occasion, like this Sat 7-9) So, if its not raining....plan on quite the brew ha ha
