Okay, a really nice thing I did one time was to suck up all of my Yankee pride and take my now ex-boyfriend to his first Mets game, as he had been deprived the pleasure of a game at Shea all his life. Needless to say it was a horrific experience for me, but I played the "guy" and bought the tickets, drove there, opened the doors, paid for stadium treats and dinner afterward. He told me it was the nicest birthday present he ever received. An even better nice thing I did was for my current boyfriend. For one of his classes he was given the opportunity to do an extra credit project of attending a "cultural event" and reporting back on it. He was pissed because he wanted the extra credit but didn't want to culture himself. So I came up with an idea, and bought tickets for the two of us to go see Rent on Broadway. I am obsessed with this show, and had seen it already, but I figured that since it wasn't your conventional Broadway musical, he might enjoy it. I bought the tix and surprised him with them and said that I didn't want anything to impede his chances of doing well in school, so every little bit of extra credit helps! I spent a pretty penny on those tickets for only the reason of seeing him succeed in school and open his horizons a bit. He loved the show and couldn't believe that a girl would do something like that so out of the blue. ------------------

The Yankees had chances to capitalize and put the game away too, and it took them til the 12th to deliver (what was up with that pussy hit by O'Neill that gave the Mets a sweet double play?
