  1. I totally agree. There's something about the dance mixes of sad songs that makes them more emotional. A lot of the vocals that jonathan peters plays are like that. The last few weeks I remember a remix of a sad old slow song from the 80s -- the chorus is "it's all a dream to me." But I can't remember who sang it. And the remix of the song by the beatles that goes "all the lonely people." Also dj tiesto's remix of silence by delirium with sarah mclaughlin, and the everything but the girl song that goes "i don't want you to want me" I know there's more but that's all I can think of right now
  2. You are so right!!!! I love it when I see you post about SF! Music was amazing, loved his set of vocals & also the dark beats he was playing from like 10 to 11. Also it was great, not too crowded on the main floor or the 4th floor. Even the coat check wasn't bad. Can't wait to go back!
  3. What kind of music was he playing? It was boring?? Haven't heard anything about his dj sets in a long time, but he used to play a great mix of hard beats & hip-hop/disco samples
  4. I'm going for sure on Friday too, I love deep dish! It's going to make for a loooooong weekend though, to go there on Fri & Sun. We'll definitely be hearing some amazing music this weekend
  5. I think your dream represents your simple yet powerful subconscious desire to spend much much more time at SF. And maybe you haven't been back since Zoya's birthday? Even though your conscious self might claim otherwise, your subconscious has a deep love for the amazingly beautiful music & vibe of that place, & especially for jp. Of course I might be a little biased...
  6. Yeah he was great, it had been a long time since I've seen him. He was really working, mixing the tracks together for longer than most djs. Great mix of vocals & instrumentals, very bouncy music. We got our coats at like 3.30 but then the music was so good we just couldn't leave I thought the crowd was a little funny too. Tons of people not there for the music, not much energy either. But centro-fly's system is 1 of the best I've ever heard in a small club. Perfect for house music
  7. He's supposed to spin from 2am until close. Only 1 more day!! I don't know who's opening for him though
  8. YES!! It's been way too long since i've been to centro fly, I'm definitely going tomorrow night. Derrick Carter is amazing! See you there
  9. Yeah I totally love his sets. He was into that kind-of discoish sound with hard beats way before anyone I know of. Can't figure out why the hell he never comes here though, or how he ended up in toronto. A great city but I don't know of any other big-name US djs who moved there
  10. Good memory! Yeah there used to be this club Fishdance, which I think now is red jacket or some other cheesy name like that. I heard the people suck but the music is decent for texas. btw Jill when are you making your grand return to sound factory???
  11. Twilo still sells it, but I've had the exact same problem at sound factory. The last few times I asked for red bull, they only had some cheap imitation made by another company -- costs just as much & doesn't wake you up! I don't think exit & sf stopped selling it because of any news reports, just so they can make more $$$$$$ on cheaper drinks
