  7. dang board is flippy again and I can't post replies, so staring new...

in response to what kinds of shoes to wear clubbing:

it depends on how you club and what you like.

I like to really *dance*, so I'll wear heeled boots if I go to uptown clubs. this allows me to meet the dress code without killing my feet. I can still dance with some freedom. plus the music usually isn't as intense and the vibe is more on socializing than dancing so I don't need to tear it up. If I'm going to hear more latin/afro-cuban flavored music or even hip-hop, I can wear boots because the movements are lighter and more in the hips.

when I go to downtown clubs I wear stylish sneakers, especially if it's house or trance, or I'm going to a rave. that way I can tear it up to my heart's desire and be very comfortable.

there's nothing more frustrating that hearing good music and not being able to move because of your footwear choice.

    hope that helps.

  10. that's why it's called "fetish," hon...if everyone wanted to do it, it would be called "commonly understood mainstream activity."

don't knock it til you've tried it,

don't do it if you don't like it

what I really want to know is for the love of god! how can anyone possibly be that skinny?! jees, it took me a sec to figure out the picture because her torso is so small I thought I was looking at her thigh.

  11. been browsing these posts, and it seems there are some pretty strong opinons about fashion.

with the except of dowdy or poorly put together retro (meaning, you're not trying to be retro hip, you just don't know that the 80s are over), I can't think of much I have a problem with. someone's style may not be my personal preference, but I can't think of any definite "no's."

personally, I think it's all how you carry it, it's all in your attitude...work it, baby, work it. I mean, I'm surprised at all the stuff I get away with wearing--things I really don't have the model bod for, but still get compliments on. and things that aren't necessarily in current fashion (sorry, I love my glitter cowboy hat), but peole don't seem to notice.

so I'm wondering what you all think of this, is it really all attitude...if you think you can wear it, people will believe it?

  12. men + leather pants = yes, please!

but it's all in how you wear them. you need to have the right attitude to pull it off. some guys will wear them with a t-shirt, some guys will go gucci-like, some guys go punk...it all works if you carry it like you're wear them everyday and it ain't no big thing. you need to believe they're working for you in order pull it off.

  13. I don't agree...

    1) pleather doesn't require you to kill an animal

    2) it's cheap so you don't have to worry about ruining it

    3) you can wear it clubbing because it's easy to clean once you've sweat in it

    4) in a dark club no one can tell if you're wearing Sears or Gucci

I wear cheap sh*t (like pleather) to clubs all the time, and I always get compliments on what I'm wearing. hell, I got the most compliments the time I went out wearing a shirt from Mystique Boutique, pants from Mandee, and shoes from Fabco. it's all in how you wear it, not what you wear....except for stirrup pants, no one should wear stirrup pants

  14. Bang Bang...men's & women's clothing...tends towards the hoochie/roxbury, but definitely good stuff there to pick through. like pairing something hoochie/roxbury with something baggie or classy...cheap, which is good because you can sweat in it and trash it in several months when you hate it

    one on 8th street, I think 2-3 blocks west of b'way, both men's & women's

one in the chelsea are, men's only

Le Chateau is similar, men's & women's...tends to be a bit more styling, like low end knockoffs of hi end looks...on the corner of b'way and houston

for da babes, Contempo Casuals (near Bang Bang) is also good to pick through

and Canal Jeans rocks everything...club kid, punk, trashy, styling

  15. notforkids...ahhh, you're catching up fast! and the plunger is merely to keep people out of my dance space...or to use the power suction to pull a cutie closer.
