  3. That poem made me cry! Drunk driving really is an issue in our country. I think that if someone drives after taking "e" & partying all night, then it's most likely sleep deprivation that causes impaired judgement while driving. But if we're all honest, we have to admit that a lot of people have a few drinks while rolling on e. With two alcoholic parents, I could go on & on about the effects of alcohol on our society. In a nutshell, what I say about alcohol is this: instead of money being the root of all evil, i believe that "alcohol is the root of all evil."
  4. can anyone tell me what to expect from this party? i saw a flyer - something to do with a night at playboy mansion or something...i have a friend in town and was taking him to seb fontaine but now i understand seb is out & dmitri is in....
  5. Sasha had a gig in Atlanta Saturday night. All my friends went to see him. Clubs close earlier in Atlanta, so he probably had to start earlier, hence he had to leave to get some shut eye. My 2 cents.
  6. kimmr, i've called the # listed on the flyer (it's attached on my message) and apparently there are no advance ticket sales & they're $15 at the door. it does sound like a good party - do you think you'll go? i'm sending you a PM

  9. sorry to bother you ezdreamer, with my inane question, but for all you know, it's e-z for Dave to find out and tell us.
  10. He is playing games with you. Sounds like he doesn't know his own mind, is a bit of an emotional wreck, and probably has terrible relationship skills. Give yourselves both some time to think things through. Playing it cool with a guy in a situation like this is the best thing. Then, after about two or three weeks, call him up, be very positive and upbeat, and ask him out. And don't be disappointed if he says no, you'll find plenty of other men to date and have sex with in this city of ours!!!!
  11. Try this novel idea: Have a candid conversation with your "fuck buddy" as you call him. Sounds like you're really into this guy. But let me enlighten you: the "fuck buddy" concept works a whole hell of a lot better for men than it does for women because women by nature are emotional creatures and sex creates a bond with a man for us, whereas it doesn't always do the same for a man. Speak to your FB (hey, did you every notice that "FB" is the opposite of "BF" - boyfriend?) and tell him how you feel and that you are compromising yourself by just being FB's with him, that you are unhappy with the situation, and that you would like to get to know him on a level other than sexually. You might be pleasantly surprised at his reaction, but be prepared for him to reject you as well. "Hope for the best but prepare for the worst" is a good motto in these situations. Send me a PM if you want to chat more.
  12. Dates haven't been announced yet. Last year's conference coincided with Spring Break and some other convention and I heard it was a horrible mix of people and there were a lot of complaints. So it looks like the date may change. Keep on eye on the Miami message boards, this question has already been posted there. Also, here is their website: www.wintermusicconference.com and you could also call them if you wanted to: Winter Music Conference 954-563-4444 office number 954-563-6889 fax number e-mail: wmcconfab@aol.com
  13. Be careful with all that stuff. Read the fine print and if you're really concerned, ask your doctor. I take Hydroxycut and sometimes it makes me feel great and sometimes it makes me irritable. Stacker II is stronger than Hydroxycut (to me) and Hydroxycut has ephedrine in it. Bottom line is, if you're trying to lose or maintain weight, in the long run it's best to eat a balanced diet and exercise a lot. Use the diet supplements as a support aid, not as your sole method of controlling your weight. Keeping your weight at a comfortable level has to be a life-long commitment so it's best to develop good eating & exercise habits when you're young - can you imagine still relying on all these supplements when we're 60 years old? It's scary to think of the long-term effects! Good luck!!!!
  14. Can Dave the administrator give us a headcount, and let us know how many newbies join us daily?
  15. a very sexually active friend of mine swears by something called Inspiral. She's tried every brand on the market, then she read about Inspiral. Cosmo readers ranked it the #1 condom on the market. They're expensive and the only place in NYC that she has found them is at Ricky's on Broadway. There are two Ricky's on Broadway, but she only found them at one of them, I think it's the one closer to Kmart. Maybe you could do a search on the internet to read about them. They are spiraled on the end which somehow makes a difference to both the man and the woman. I think it allows for more freedom of movement. Good luck!
  16. Japanese for eating healthy & b4 you party (sushi). Mexican for when you have a hangover or are just plain starving!!! Thai is great too! My mom's homecooking ranks right up there, and my cooking ain't bad either!!!
  17. Here's a party at The Frying Pan at the Chelsea Piers on Oct. 27: Hello all, This an update & reminder for this Friday's party at Frying Pan. If you haven't been there yet, you will be amazed -- this space is the best location in Manhattan for Halloween party, we are making the most of it. The sound system is already installed reinforcing house system on the pier by set of four subs, full-on mids, two racks of amps and effects! The boat's inside is too loud, we might have to keep the volume down so you don't damage your hearing. Wear ear-plugs. The most of Frying Pan pier is being sealed by huge tent with heater inside, the space lit by many blacklight and video projectors. Our design artist -- Daniel is working on preparing special backdrops and 3-D sculptures especially for this event, this is in addition to amazing artwork by Severyn. The line-up as described previously will remain same, however main floor in the tent on top of the pier will be fully psychedelic starting from TINKER live (New York's own trance band, highly psychedlic and full of energy beautifull sound!!!) with five band members totally live on stage with guitars, drummer plus groovebox and DJ!!! from 12am following their warm up (or guest DJ) SubtleChaos DJ set by Jason and Vadim four descks and CDJs, we will take over the pier after TINKER starting 2am until it's sunrise. At same time inside the boat you will be able to hear some of the best in techno and drum and base. Throb's DJ Prozac and DJ Chrome of Blackkat will have you groooving to their sets, it's a Halloween freak party. We hope to welcome all friends of Blackkat and techno heads from around the city. You will have a chance to hear and see some of the coolest underground DJs. Sometime just after or before sunrise we will all join together for the last DJ set from the special guest (T.B.A.) This is pretty much all we have for update right now, we still have lots of stuff to do, mainly decoration and lighting setups, additional DJ bookings for chill-out (the boat has a small chill-out) and other stuff. Let your friends know and ofcourse bring your granny!!! --subtlechaos
  18. very helpful & supportive input, thank you!
  19. I'll be in South Beach Nov. 9-14. We'll just miss each other. Darn!
  20. It is ridiculously packed and for $35, I can listen to my CD and then hit Twilo on better nights like Timo Maas & Deep Dish, Anthony Pappa, Danny Howells or even Carl Cox. The line is too long unless you get there b4 midnight too. Not that I don't like S&D, but there are too many factors that can cause you stress on a crowded night like that. Good luck!
  21. I'm screwed!!! Any suggestions on how to find a studio in the $1600 price range?
