Believe it or not the summer of 2006 is coming to an end. Seems like yesterday we kicked it off with a massive party @ Pearl on Memorial Day Weekend. That night was the biggest night in Pearl's HISTORY. History will be repeating itself on Labor Day. We started the summer of 06 at Pearl and that's exactly where we are going to close it out. Sunday Sept 3rd (Labor Day) Pearl Nightclub, Bret & Raf host CANDYLAND....THE WHITE PARTY @ PEARL. DJ's Rick Naples & BTH will be setting up outside on the patio and the entire club will be decked out in all WHITE for this special event. Bret and I will be doing a special back2back tag team set playing all the best house anthems from the summer of 06. I'll be producing a special mixed CD specifically for this event and will have them available for FREE all night long. Cabanna's and tables are already being reserved. This night will be a guarenteed sell out so please do not wait til the last minute to make a reservation as they are going quickly. Call 401-996-5117 to make a reservation. On Memorial Day Weekend in May we kicked off the Summer05 with a MASSIVE party at Umbria which was SOLD OUT by 12:30. This coming Sunday Sept 4th we are closing out the Summer05 the way we opened it was another BLOWOUT party at Umbria. DJ Rick Naples (ME, lol) will be joined by DJ Play on the 4th floor and 5th floor balcony (both levels will be opened) spinning HOUSE. DJ Profenna will be on the 3rd floor playing HIP HOP and R & B. I'll be recording my set and have the new CD's available ASAP. We've got professional photographers coming down to shoot pics and I have some other surprises in store for the night. I was just there last weekend. Supersex is your best bet for titty bars. Went to Wandas and left after 1 drink. Didnt like it at all. For clubs there are a ton of bars on Cresent Street & St. Catherines that are cool. If your up for after hours DEFINATELY hit up Stereo. Friday's are straight and Saturday's are more of a mixed crowd. Hope that help. Have a great time...I DID, lol. RICK

Next Monday is a holiday for everyone so that means this Sunday night Umbria will be hosting another sold out event. This Sunday night Umbria Nightclub & djricknaples.com host the INDEPENDANCE MARATHON. The last Sunday party we had at Umbria was Memorial Day weekend and that party was sold out by midnight with a vibe like i've never seen at Umbria. All 3 floors of Umbria will be open. DJ Rick Naples (ME) & DJ Play will be spinning all house music on the 4th and 5th floor and DJ Lucca will be playing hip hop on the 3rd floor. As many of you know (or for those who dont) our good friend Jeremy aka DJ Nailz is leaving us at the end of May to head out west where it's warm 365 days a year. This Friday at Umbria we are going to try and send him off with a BANG. I've been friends with Jeremy for many many years and have had the pleasure of DJing with him at some of the best nights in my DJing career. Im glad that Jeremy and I will get to spin together ONE LAST TIME before he leaves. I'll be opening up the night then Jeremy will spin for a while and we'll close it out doing a special tag team set and blow the roof off of Umbria. For those looking for a little change of pace this weekend. This Saturday night i've been invited to do a guest set at Saint on Exeter Street along with good friend and fellow DJ Shawn Ahern. We'll be spinning deep, soulful, sexy house music all night. For those who dont know about Shawn he's spun at Saint several times in the past and I also had him spin with me a few times at Twilight @ Mantra last summer. Saint is a great room. Tons of celebrities and sports stars always hanging out. TKO have just finished and upgrade to the dj booth and sound system and the room sounds great. This will be my first time spinning at Saint (except for the few drunken mixes with Joe Mama on Sunday nights, lol). Im really looking forward to it. 21+, proper dress is a must, doors at 10pm. What's up kids. I wanted to pass along information about a new house night in Boston. Friday night "Stimulate" your senses at UMBRIA Nightclub. This night is dedicated to all forms of house music. I'll be on the decks playing 4 hours of filtered, vocal, tribal, disco, old school house music. The format for the night will be similar to my old Saturday night's at Pravda. Umbria is located at the former Il Panino spot on Franklin St in Boston. They have done a complete renovation on all the club floors (3rd, 4th, & 5th floor) adding couches, vip areas, LED lighting, & upgrades to their Sound & Lights.
