  1. the problem about oakie is that he plays the same set practically every time so it gets boring if you see him a lot. Matt
  2. yep that is actually the best thing about oakie, the fact that he still plays cj bollands 'the prophet' (come with me) after 4 years. Love that tune. "take your bread, and give it to the poor"
  3. I have never heard JV yet so I can't comment on that (but I'm planning to in December when I am over), but what is the point in slating someone when obviously loads of people do appreciate what he does unless you just want to start drama. For my 2 pence worth I think oakie and PvD are hugely overrated but I wouldn't slag people off for hearing something I don't when they play. All DJs work fucking hard and any DJ that has built up a following must be doing something right. Oh except Dave Pearce but you lot probably haven't been exposed to his shit yet! Matt
  4. dirtyslapper you are so rude and I am deeply deeply offended. Just because I am young and inexperienced doesn't make me any less of a person. I can also touch my nose with my tongue by the way. Matt Please excuse my poorly disguised english sarcasm. and I'm afraid there aren't any pictures of me in existence because I am so hideously ugly that I break camera lenses
  5. Yes the list does contain some crap (jules) but then again at least the number 1 is right. I have never seen a 'house' DJ that can mix anything like sasha and the journeys are always fantastic. Matt
  6. oakie is overrated and plays the same records every time, worst thing is he is always going on about how he is breaking dance music into the US when you guys were there since the start. Matt
  7. mine was sasha at fabric in june or july this term, it was absolutely the most amazing experience of my life, It was the third time I'd seen him in less than a month the others being bedrock and gatecrasher summer sound system but although they were both amazing this was on another level entirely. Matt
  8. well I'm coming over on december 13th to swoon around NYC being very English (pissed and messed up) Matt
  9. parks and wilson are absolutely awesome. residents at home and in my opinion much better than oakie! best thing that ever happened to the club! Expect a couple of hours of dark progression from them followed by a build up to banging trance more like PVD/Oakie style stuff.... awesome! Matt P.S. parks and wilson and quivver together are tilt
  10. at fabric, sorry guys but you always make me feel jealous with twilo! 3 weeks until my first twilo experience whoop whoop
  11. I agree with this man. "hear you calling" was by aurora, Anomally (calling your name) is a different track entirely.
  12. the best ever mix CD was on MOS... Sasha and Digweed northern exposure (the first one) Matt
  13. well hear in the UK twilo is known as the best sound system in the world! I can't wait to check it out in December to see if it can match the deep down dirtiness of fabric or the hugeness of home! Matt
  14. I have just re-unearthed sasha and digweeds original northern exposure CD and it is most definitely the pinnacle mix CD, 7 minute long mixes fantastic tunes, soundscapes. deep deep stuff. It reminds me of everything about when I started clubbing. Now if anyone wants to give me a copy od drum clubs- sound system on 12" id be grateful!!! Matt (arrival time in new york dec 13th 4pm... bring it on)
  15. seb is the current cream resident, pretty good alround, progressive house/trance, a lot more poppy than sasha and digweed in my opinion. cj bolland made a tune called the prophet a few years ago which instantly made him god. matt come with me
  16. parks and wilson are awesome, two of my faves!
  17. guys see parks and wilson they are very very very very good.
  18. does the fog/dry ice smell? my old favourite club that alas is no more had the sweetest smelling fog ever, something that i will never forget
  19. s+d always cover for each other anyway. I went to bedrock once (digweeds own night) for digweed and pete tong but digweed was ill so sasha came and played in his place. Sasha also covered at bedrock one night when paul 'i am way too overrated' oakenfold couldn't make it. Nowadays I'd swear sasha was more of an alcoholic than a drug fiend. He must have had at least 10 cans during his NYE gatecrasher set. Give him respect though I doubt I could beatmix after that much let alone pull off the most amazing mixes I have ever heard. The man is the man like Matt
  20. right i guess I am going to have to go down to bedrock tomorrow night and see him, love diggers, love bedrock, don't love friday mornings though
  21. oakey wouldn't even make my top 10, no other 'big' dj totally loses as many mixes as oakey, and his choice of tracks are sooooooo predicatable, at the gatecrasher summer festival he played one tune and i instantly knew what the next three would be. danny tenaglia, steve lawler, parks and wilson, digweed, jimmy van m and of course sasha are far far better. PvD is very overrated too imho
  22. A little sideline. The woods that sleepy hollow the movie were filled in are the very same woods that sashas house is in, in Henley near London
  23. looks like i will be coming after all. Bring it on!!!!
  24. are they really likely to close? I was planning to come over for my birthday from london in december but if there is a chance they won't be around then I won't book the flights yet or maybe it is just scaremongering
