  1. That's a very fulfilling feeling..., that's gotta feel good. Congrats on touching someone, there's no substitute. I got that at a show of my paintings a few times. Feels great and reminds us of why we do what we do.
  2. OMG... why did you point that out. Now they're buggin' me out too... must turn gaze away....
  3. 1. Miller's Crossing 2. Gettysburg (That 3 slot is tough.... It's a toss-up btw Bladerunner and Matrix) 3. Matrix They're not all genius films, but they're ultimately watchable. Of course they're subject to mood changes, but if I could have only 3 movies to watch ever... Vision... you really gotta explain the choice of Caligula... I admit the story behind the making of the movie is funny, sad, and fascinating, but c'mon. The movie itself is crap as both cinema and porn.
  4. First off... huge props to you. You *went* to work. If that had been me, I might not have made it in. I commend you for going straigh to work, instead of throwing in the towel. And you really gave me a bit of a chuckle... I hate it when I have those revelations. I think I have one about every other time I go out... It's like "God DAMN, I guess I really *am* a crackhead!" I think my first revelation came around noon at Twilo for CC/DT. I gotta start going ot more Lep thursdays... I'm starting to miss everyone again.
  5. I would def go with PS2. Take a look at first gen games on PS1 vs second and third gen. Look at Wipeout or Gran Turismo vs wipeout 3 or GT2 for an example of the power of the developer ot work with the system architecture. Expect great things for future ps2 games. Later ps1 games were looking as good as Dreamcast games by the time DC came out. Add to that, Sony really does shoot for genuine quality and a back-compatible library of ps1 titles to pick up for the ps2 and you just cant go wrong (and the controller is the best I've ever tried). It sounds like if you wait a bit you'll be able to pick up the PS2 with the HDD and Network connection for the good ol' $299. In the end, its all about the gameplay and PS2 has loads of games, even more if you tack on the hundreds of ps1 games, most for around $20. (gt2 & MGS included)
  6. Huge props to the CP crew. The corner was a dream. So good to see so many faces thru my haze. Great seeing Apoth and Rita, Sai... for too short a time... sorry for being so flighty by the time I saw you. Freefall, great to meet you and Trancend, cool to see you again. LM, shit I didnt know you got hurt. I must have seen you right before it happened since I saw you pretty good into the night. Az-tec... heh heh. I *saw* you but didnt have the focus to get up and say 'hey'. I'm not gonna try to name any more names, of course I crew I camw ith knows who they are and I can't wait for the next night like that. Truley a great night! See you all soon. e

Never apologize. It's a sign of weakness. Now say you're sorry!

    Too Many Men!!!

well shoot! I was responding to the discussion of disease, not suggesting dating = fucking or that FD is banging all the guys she knows. If it looked that way, it was unintentional. ok, carry on.
  9. In my experience, there is a very strong correlation. If the girl can relax and let go with her dance, then it speaks volums about how well she can do the same in bed. Of course there are no absolutes, but it does say soemthing about innate ability. Personal chemistry plays a huge role too though. If two people click... stand back. But for me... all the really good dancers i've been with were well above average in bed... and the best dancer blew my doors off.
  10. WB! I havent seen your face in ages!

    Too Many Men!!!

well... yeah. Its disgusting but, its is a reality people forget about. Diseases arent just HIV and clamydia. And I for one, just cant get into oral uless its tongue to skin. As dangerous as it could be.... i just cant use an 'oral dam'

    Too Many Men!!!

ummm... well lets not forget warts... Those things dont get coverd by the condom. Bottom line, sleeping around is risky no matter what kind of precautions you take.
  13. Happy Birthday old man! See ya soon.
  14. Does this mean the site is gonna be optimized for Mozilla or Konquerer?? Cool. (and don't look to me to help.. I still haven't unpacked the RPMs I need for sound)
  15. OK, I know you're generalizing so I'll take that into account. But where I went to school, we weren't awarded a degree unless we had acquired the requisite skill. Maybe you're trying to make an observation about objective vs subjective criteria? CS/prgramming is more objective because if it doesn't run, you dont pass? I can't back you on that either... I squeeked through three semesters of Life Drawing with a C each semester because I didn't hone my skills, didn't improve enough, and simply didn't meet the standards of an established tradition of drawing the human form. When we move into the upper levels, 300/400/500 level courses, we both still have to meet certain criteria. Who is to say a program which runs is 'A' material or 'B' material? A program can run yet fail to be elegant... same thing for a work of art. It may convey a message/emotion yet be only mediocre. So, back to your statement - and I'm not trying to bust balls here - but... None of us can make it through a halfway decent school yet learn nothing. No one with a degree (not the mail-in sort) lacks skill. What it seems to be coming down to for you, is what you are thinking of as 'skill' and 'something learned'. While you are cetainly entitled to your own system of values, I just hope you'll realize what you're saying. Again, it's my own values, but I don't place more value on the programmer than I do the artist or historian.
  16. I disagree. Skill is also about what comes easiest to us. I don't have the kind of mind which adapts to long nights of coding and debugging. Others don't have the kind of mind which takes to producing a piece of visual art. Others still don't have the capacity to memorize facts and figures essential to comprehending the history of art. Neither is easier if it isnt your forte. How can we say one is easier than another unlesss we've dont both, and even then what's easier for one is not for another. I stand by my original observation... its all difficult. Medieval Art History was easily my most grueling course. But thats me.
  17. I'm offended by the posts characterisation of clubs and clubgoers. I can only guess their source is some upset clubgoer who got bounced for having drugs on him or her. Sticks of sour grapes and sensationalism.
  18. <--- jealous <---LotR geek <---Jealous LotR geek Th movie felt 30 hours long??? jk Thanks for an incredible review... I'm so psyched to go see it with the unwashed masses now!! e
  19. We all have our own strengths and our own short-comings. I have a BFA and a Masters in Anthropology. I've had to produce 30 paintings... good paintings... in 16 weeks, I've had to memorize 200 pieces of art, why they matter and when/what/who. I've had to write numerous papers back to back. Guys... ahem.... It all hard! Wake up. That's why not everyone does it and not everyone goes to college. Congratulations on the fact that you're doing well and thank you for learning the programming I wish I could learn. As it stands I'll be amazed with myself if I ever learn how to write a basic perl script to perform some as yet unknown function under linux. No doubt I probably need to buy something you produce instead. And if you're looking to decorate your living room, maybe you'll come to appreciate the work your local artist put into that canvas you like. so do ya think, maybe you dont need to demean the artists and english majors in order to communicate that programming aint easy?
  20. It was cool to meet a couple new faces- Sicone and Crobra (sp?) and the sweet lady you had with ya. Sorry to bolt so early RegP... just got a little tired, plus been trying ot be good so i can be bad NYE. Running on my own steam, and while it was a good set, the very packed crowd made it hard to really find a good groove for long without getting slammed by someone really intent on moving by me. Clubkat... I got a good lap too.. just so ya know. :hugs:: Next time all..
  21. Well, if it weren't for this board, I wouldn't have met almost all of the people I know, or my best friend. I wouldn't have had nearly as much fun and I doubt I would have found such great people to lean on in September. Thanks guys, look forward to seein' you all soon. And I wont list any names since there's just too many, but Gambit is def one of 'em. e
  22. Thanks DaVe!! I gotta echo Shuga's sentiments. I had a great time and am amazed at how this has transformed since last year's Holiday party. The real downside this time though?? We didn't get a toast from you... Maybe we can do it in a month in a quieter setting? I ain't even gonna try to name names. I saw alot of old faces, saw some peeps I hadn't seen since Twilo, and met a few faces that I've had some good chats with over IM. HI GUYS! And I'll catch up with you soon. e
