  1. NPR 820AM said the ceremony would be at 6:30 tonight. I work in Jersey City and live north of Hoboken. Who's gonna be where? e, who is going to take a greater interest in equestrian sport from now on.
  2. There are some times when I'm not ashamed to cry. Watching it alone in my home last night gave me the emotional freedom to break down. I suppose I needed the chance to be forced to confront the feelings I've been avoiding for a while now. I taped it and I have two VCRs, I'll see if either is in good enough shape to make copies. If it is, I'll post again about it. Feel free to send me a PM and maybe we can make a copying tree of the coverage. Is anyone going to the memorial ceremony tonight? If so, do you guys want to try to meet up? It looks like there are a few of us who lost friends on that day, and I'll take this moment to mention Casey aka Blueangel. The newer people to the board may not have known her, but she was pivotal in my getting to know everyone I know in NYC. I moved here about 18 months ago, and the meetup dinners she organized are largely how I got to know all of my friends. Mitchell, if you're reading, you're in my thoughts. edit: tape reference
  3. I believe the clear communication is the key to understanding. With that in mind, this will help us all 'just get along'. For the classically educated: http://www.atlantaga.com/ebonics.htm or http://www.joel.net/EBONICS/translator.asp And not to leave out the gentlemen who prefer to focus their energies on the physical realm (or should i say 'use dis link - aww yea foo') http://www.billism.com/eng_to_ebon_trans.html Oh, and nice abs... e
  4. First LP was a collection of live Beatles tunes recorded in Germany when they were just getting going. The first one I bough tfor myself... was Duran Duran ::blush:: First CD was New Order:Substance and I think I picked up Shriekback: Oil & Gold at the same time. I have never bought tapes; too unreliable.
  5. I just didn't want to call undue attention to my single-ness. Wanna get drunk with me?? lol
  6. two kitties! Milk and Spring- and they rock. They're especially good at poker... I think they play all day while I'm at work, cause when I sit down to play 'em, they kick my ass... and you thought *you* had issues.
  7. My first clubbing experience was (I think) sparked by an older friend in HS. She got us to come out to a Chicago club called Medusa's. It was a good underage 'Juice bar' great music, Chicago house (when Chicago house was just coming up) and it taught me how to dance without any space to move. My first NYC club though was Twilo (on my first nigh twith CPers). No better baptism there.
  8. I love Metro channel! If I decide to get my cable back, then I'll be all over it. I spend half my life on my computer. It seems like I'm making computer tech a hobby. The other half is spent reading for pleasure. I play some videogames, mostly an online one. I tend to my motorcyle when I'm not riding it... doesn't seem to be helping much though... it's just getting old and rusty now. And from time to time I design Celtic knot-work or sketch/paint. Shit, I don't know... I have a world of interests, I just follow 'em. Oh, and does hugging pretty CP women count or is that just human nature?
  9. :: smootch :: Of course I'll be there! And Goddamn, has it been A year already? Heretic... funny as hell... I laughed my head off. I hope to see you there too, Shuga.
  10. Mugz..., I have no idea *what* you're talking about. jk, I'm am a fan of breaks... not so big as to drop any names... but then, I wasn't born here either. e, who thinks 'World Destruction' is one of the all-time best tracks ever.
  11. And human fluids don't count. If you're messing around down there, then it's not unusual to get it in your eye. The other evening I was going lo-fi with some EZ-cheese and the can back-fired. I got EZ-cheese in my eye... stung, but not bad. Another time i got Carmex lip balm in my eye when I rubbed my eye after putting it on. No sensation like a mentholated eyeball... wow. So... What brand of stupid behavior has temporarily blinded you?
  12. When you're in the bathroom, pissing, what's the deal with spitting? About a third of the time, when I'm taking a piss, I'll notice some guy quietly spitting into the urinal while he's using it. I hate to give away one of our guy secrets, but I don't understand. When I go to the bathroom, I urinate... that's it. 'Peeing' has never made my mouth water, let alone, enough to require I spit past my cock while I'm using the john. So, if you're a spitter, please explain yourself. What is it about peeing that makes you need to spit. Do you spit while you crap too? thanks.
  13. I'm not... Hey, shouldn't this ne in the 'Promoter' section??? (jk) e
  14. This story just popped up on the Wired site. If you downloaded a version of Audiogalaxy between October 1st and November 4th you might have a problem. *** *** Spyware, In a Galaxy Near You By Jeffrey Benner 2:00 a.m. Jan. 24, 2002 PST The latest scandal over so-called spyware involves a mysterious and particularly insidious program that tracks your surfing, delivers pop-up ads and could even collect your credit card information. You may not have heard of the VX2 Corporation, but if you've downloaded Audio Galaxy lately, VX2 may know a lot about you. *** *** http://www.wired.com/news/technology/0,1282,49960,00.html The story offers a couple of links which can help protect you against spyware, among them 'Adaware'. -e
  15. Wow. I was really interested in this thread. Seemed like a cool question and I was going to suggest Mugwump or BlueAngel (Casey, who was lost in the WTC) These two people really impacted us all. Mugz, as a great instigator of conversation; and Casey who brought us together. Newer members may not realize it, but she played a very key role in organizing non-club meetups when CP got going a couple years ago. Unfortunately, this thread has degraded into a couple of self-obsessed idiots intent on getting in the last word in a futile attempt to out-stupid each other. Way to go D.A.s Somebitch/TastyT, SB, nice to see you again, its been awhile. T, if you're sick... I care. Sai, thanks for taking the time to respond intelligently. Maybe the DAs will go away now.
  16. Check out this site. You can even download the cheesy themesong: http://pacelli2.tripod.com/knight.html edit: removed bad link to image
  17. Shit bro, I havent seen you on in a while. Good to see you. I been quiet, but now I'm back. See you at Vinyl.
  18. MWAH!!! :: smootch :: :: hug :: ::big cheesy grin :: I been waiting to say this for a couple of months now. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!! heh heh, well, that was satisfying. e
  19. Nah. I'm with Crystalmethod. High profile clubs attract a class of people who dress out of magazines, and the club reenforces the motif by filtering out the interesting people. Clubs like Vinyl thrive for the music and the diversity. Oh and CK... I'm sad to see you think that.. but I think you know its not true. you just gotta hang out with more freaks like us.
  20. I can't tell you how many times I've said that.
  21. Hell, we don't gotta kill *anyone*. Just sterilize everyone on the planet over the age of 18. Problem solved.
  22. Codica, Ibclubbin, and RFKFreak each are saying we are responsible for our own actions. I agree with that... but we also have to admit that *we* have all made mistakes in the past. Personally, if I care enough about the people I'm out partying with to actually be in their company, then I'm going to care enough to keep one eye on them. In that vein though... I'm responsible for my own actions as well, and that includes protecting my friends as a selfish interest in seeing them well and safe. Please lets not take this as flame or trollish, but for the same reasons, even selfish reasons, I'm gonna express concern for strangers if only to foster a safer environment. The time it takes for a friend to come around and notice my sorry ass could make a difference someday. If a stranger just took a minute to see that I'm coherant, it could be the diff btw a good night and a bad one. So, I'm not attacking the notion that we are all grownups, but I want to remind everyone that we all make mistakes. I hope we can cover each others backs.
  23. OK look, I have been 3 deep and surrounded by my crew. But we have never *all* been so f-ed up that at least a couple of us were able to watch out for each other. When I go out with my one true partner-in-crime we stick close or at least orbit around each other. It's all about paying enough attention to your surroundings that you're still capable of functioning at least on the most basic level. Shit, one time I screwed up and only had enough time to tell my buddy I was gonna need some hand-holding for the next hour or so. So, I suppose all I'm really saying is: Keep the whole PLUR thing in mind. Lets look out for each other, even if we dont that person... There's no excuse for us letting someone remain alone and passed out in a club. At the very least we can hang and watch out for em... take turns... grab their friends.
