is anyone really shocked by this? what's next, football players on steroids? his parties start at 5am and go on for 14 hours, it's obvious that large part of the crowd that goes to see listen to him is on some kind of a drug and obviously none of us likes to admit that we go out to do drugs, but it seems like that is the whole idea behind spending whole day at a night club

yes, howells, corsten and digweed, sorry, missed one and it's been about 2 weeks since boris, jp and morillo were there as for danny t, it's now 3 weeks since he was at studio sorry for being negative, but it sucks when such a nice club keeps on booking the same garbage act every month

nope, still spins hard trance awesome dj, just saw him at Trance Energy, and his set was really good, but webster hall is not a place where i would want to see anyone

chris doesn't play nearly as hard as eddie who scratches and works the crowd like no other, both are great dj's, neither one has the respect they deserve, but this city is not into trance besides the 3 big names it's unfortunate they will be in webster hall, but the promoter/booking agents really did a great job booking both of them on the same night not sure what kind of a crowd will show up for this one, eddie himself couldn't half-fill crobar, and chris is huge on the west coast, not here, but it def. be a great night of music, if it happens

Went to see Morillo first time in over a year, thinking he would play some new music, and he did. But first I want to point out something clever. Just back in the day at SF, I was told to throw out my gum (NO GUM INSIDE!!!! the bouncer that felt me up said), just so I can purchase one that I don't like from the guy in the bathroom. I was goning to tell him that gum is allowed as I was leaving, but did not see him. But what really made an impression on me was the crowd. It seemed like the dancefloor was equally divided into the asian crowd occupying the space closer to the doors (not sure why, but that crowd is always closer to the doors in every club, think about it), and the non-asian crowd. As I walked around, I've noticed that about 6 out of 10 people were drinking only water (this was at 1am), which means that it was either very hot inside (which it wasn't), or it was just a very energetic, music crazy crowd that loved to dance, and does not drink (which it was). It's just unreal that the place, or should i write the crowd that patrons that place has not changed. It looked like JP night from 5 years ago, with much better music. I did see some great dancers, which chose to dance in the basement where the vibe was "different." I also noticed that a lot of the people in the bathrooms did not like to use the urinal, but instead chose to wait for the stalls, shyness I guess. Everyone but me seemed to be very enthusiastic when Morillo anounced his 16 hour set, but I don't like to spend 16 hours doing anything. By pahse 4, which i heard being announced as I was heading for the door, the place was packed with differerent genarations of "music users." This was my first vist to the new Sound Factory, and the club looks really nice, the lights and sound system are superior to that of Crobar, but I think the layout of the club is better. However, there is something about being in that place, surrounded by that crowd that gives me "the creeps." I blame it on the cold that I've been battling for the past week. So, please excuse my sarcasm, but someone should tell the boys in blue to stop closing Crobar at 4am for underage drinking, and head over to Pacha, where they can party till 4pm.

what about those who go out at midnight and party till 5pm the next day? is it the love of the music that keeps them awake?

glad to hear that you enjoy it it took me some time to get to like it, seemed very boring to me at first, but some friends from chicago really turned me onto it it's really a cool style, a nice change from the constant beats that you hear in house and hard tech if you want to hear some really good minimal, listen to some sets by adam beyer, ricardo villalobos, hawtin, magda and such in some of their recent sets, hard techno dj's such as liebing and cox are playing a lot of mininal as you know, there is not a lot of mininal dj's playing ny, i went to see beyer in avalon several months ago and maybe 50 people in total showed up for an awesome minimal set, which combined with the fact that ny is mostly about house explains why these people don't come around as much as some of us would like them to

anyone interested in seeing him this friday? i understand that a lot of you are going to see dt, but not one mention of richie?

then you will have to wait for some time ny is not really techno friendly, and sims will not be back here next week

chris is awesome, and unfortuanately i will miss him this time also, he's been playing a lot of minimal stuff for the past few months

jessy, yes, there was a lot of asian people there, doing their usual thing and when i wrote his usual stuff, i did not mean the old songs, i was referring to the music he has been playing lately, but i did not stay until the end, so he might have thrown in some of his older songs as for the will call, i feel that there has got to be a more efficient way of letting people with prepaid tickets in, but this wait was nothing compared to the diseaster of will call at ultra

it was very very crowded, as i expected, line was horrible, some idiots fighting, same long wait for everyone, regardless of having will call, which in my mind defeats the whole purpose of getting tickets ahead of time tiesto didn't start till about 1:40 or so, started off with some mellow stuff, and played harder tracks as the night went on, so just like every other time when a big name dj comes there, dancing is almost impossible because it was so crowded, people walking around in circles around the club as if revlon is doing a cancer walk on the way out i've noticed that the whole club was playing tiesto (no hip hop), and i should have stayed in the small room as opposed to being in the main room so, i'm not sure if he ripped it sickkk or he was off da hook, since i have many of his sets, he played his usual stuff, which i like but it was so damn crowded, and i can't imagine what it will be like tonight, since last night was not sold out

thanks for pointing out the obvious to me, but that was not why i wrote that i was comparing pacha on a sat night to seeing carl cox during wmc, where all the prices are inflated beyond belief, and the difference is only $30

just to compare, crobar in miami was charging 250/person + tip for 2 bottles and admission for 4 to see carl cox on sat during wmc i think you are right by saying that 220 is a bit much to pay to get into pacha
