  1. The problem is, if US goes and attacks, whats gonna happen after? Pakistan, Taliban, Saudi Arabia, Iraw, Iran, probably even Jordan, Egypt and Turkey, they all HATE US, and I dont wanna get flamed for this, but they have their own good reasons, its not just religion and fanatics. what if all teh arabs are gonna come together, what then? They got nothing to loose, their countries and economies are already at the ground, and if we send troops therre, their entire civilian population will help in the war against the US. And plz dont buy into the BS that theyr military is to the ground b/c its not. They have people wiling to commit suicide in the name of their countries, and thats the most powerfull weapon. Plus Im sure that they have chemical weapons, and will use em if necesary. Guerilla attacks will also come in handy for them. US on the other hand will have to play nice, bc of all the alliances that they have, and b/c of what they represent. Dont forget what happened in vietnam, and desert storm. They know their land very well. ANd if US starts a fulscale war, I think that the public will come against it. I mean I wouldn wanna see more dead people, and more statistics. Them on the other hand, dont have such thing to worry about. There they are willing to die than let US win. what I dont understand is why does US keep supporting Israel? I think it would gain much more powerfull allies if they didnt. I mean we couldhave all the arabs on our side instead of against us. Plz. I dont mean anything personal..

  7. Considering Limelight was the first nightclub I ever went to I thought this was the least VIP could do to help out. Hope you guys can help out and we can make a difference. Help the limelight out or it will close! This coming Tuesday, September 4th at 11:00AM there will be a hearing at the State Liquor Authority and we need your support! As most of you are aware by now, we have purchased the Limelight along with our partners at XL! We cannot take possession of the premises until the State Liquor Authority transfers the license to us. We plan on a brand new sound system, new lights, air conditioning and a renovation of the club. You have seen what we've done with XL and we plan on doing the same with the Limelight. This hearing is to give the community a chance to speak out for or against granting Limelight and John Blair a Liquor License. THE STATE LIQUOR AUTHORITY WANTS TO KNOW WHAT THE COMMUNITY THINKS. We need to show them WE are the majority on this community and that we want the Limelight to stay open under a responsible new management team! We're facing a very vocal minority that strongly opposes the Limelight. They're people who lived next door through the "bad days" of Limelight and want the location shut down forever. This is why we're asking anyone who can attend this meeting to please help show the State Liquor Authority that you support us and the transfer of the licenses. It will make the difference on whether the Limelight stays open or is closed for good! One by one our nightlife venues have been closed. We urge you to attend this hearing and help us make sure this does NOT happen to Limelight! The meeting will be at: State Liquor Authority 11 Park Place - 7th Floor (between Broadway and Church St) TUESDAY, September 4th at 11:00am If you can attend this meeting, please e-mail tripp@jblair.com or call Tripp Zanetis at (212) 995-1400 ext 230. He will coordinate with you what to do. We want to continue to bring quality events and venues to our community and the NEW Limelight will be a perfect venue for it! We thank you for your continued support! John Blair & Beto Sutter
  8. shit.. CM for free? thats awseome Ive been waiting for one of his soncerts for years, and when cream got cancled I thought there was no hope.. and its free? damn
  9. why is this all the fus about Oakie? I went to his concert.. a while back, it was only 35$ a few years ago, and I said it then and I will say it now. He is good, but nothing special, I like it a little bit edgy, and unique, for each individual DJ, Okanfold just doesnt have it. Yeah I agree he has some good songs, but thats about it. Id much prefer listening to crystal and JV. I dont really care how much his tixts are, since I dont think its worth it. about mainstream.. def its a bad thing. Even though the bands get more money and reach a much larger targeted audience. The key word here, is LARGER AUDIENCE, which means that they probably wont be able to play what they want, they will probably get to play moreof what MOST people like. I dont know about you, but I think that the musci that MOST people listen to (which means mostly12-16 year olds, such as Nsync) suck majorly. Unfortunatelly mainstream is inevitale. A good example is faithless. I listened to their songs, and got their albums a long time before I first heard em on 92.7 After half yaer I heard them on z100, and I know that if they have a concert right now (which they wont) theres gonna be a bunch of 12 yaer olds, that just came there b/c it was the cool thing to do. I think thats great for them, I dont really care, as long as it wont affect their music, which I think is very hard not slip into what the mainstream wants, which is basically pop music
