  1. I did a phone interview with Layo a couple of days ago and they're definitely up for it. Looks like they'll do back to back taking 30 mins to 1 hour each time.

It's also the FA Cup final on Saturday the 17th, and I think we'll all head to The Playwright to catch it before they leave if you want to join us.

  2. Just a lil reminder...

    CoolJunkie present Layo & Bushwacka!

    Friday May 16th @ Nerve

Plus Craig Demo & Roman Ricardo

Sponsored by Street, A3-TV, and Bacardi

Event will be filmed by A3-TV for some kind of music video I think...

    Open bar 10-12

Guest list details on CoolJunkie.com next week

  3. While I agree that the e-mails may have been stronger than the proposed legislation, I also think it was necessary in order to attract a crowd to the meeting.

As was stated by Roman, it wasn't really a reaction to the proposed legislation, more a message from the nightlife and entertainment community that it feels threatened, and that it feels the commission are 'out to get' nightlife in some way.

I think what it also showed is that the nightlife community, when motivated to do so, can be highly organized. I was particularly impressed with the fact that representatives had studied past meetings in order to highlight negative comments made by the mayor and commissioners.

  4. I think there's a bit of confusion in thet thread between what Pete and the dance specialists play and what gets on the playlist.

Pete, Seb, Jules, Fergie, and Dave regularly play unknown white labels and are free to spin whatever they like on their shows.

However the BBC playlists govern what is played in general rotation on a daily basis. I think this is what Rui is referring to. The playlists are generally filled with tracks that are likely to chart, covering the whole spectrum of music, because Radio 1's audience is 18-24.

Getting on the playlist is tough and generally only happens when a tune looks like it will cross over.

  5. Well absolutv he absolutely kicked ass last night.

I haven't had that much fun since the Hooj party at Opium during WMC. Lots of clubbers, lots of industry, and everyone was bouncing to Hernan's set. He also kicked it for an hour in Prive (you might have heard him there).

Also a big shout to Ariel Baund - built it nicely for Hernan, controlled but still managed to fill the floor.

Really glad we could be involved in this one, and I'm sure there'll be many more. Fridays are back! :D
