  1. I know a few of you peeps are either in NY or are regulars there, so if you're around this Friday join us for our official NY launch party at GrooveJet Lounge in SoHo.

Kurtis Patrick will provide the tunes, and all the NY Junkies will be in attendance!

PM us before Tuesday for guestlist...

  2. The Winners Party was one of the best nights we've had for a long time. I haven't been to Space for a while, but I'll be back soon. The energy was out of hand, and I couldn't ask for a better set of DJ's.

We had the whole spectrum of music from Michael's deep dark progressive house to Roland's funky chunky sets, to Oscar ripping it up, to B-Side keeping it cool on the patio.

Thanks and much respect to Space and all the DJ's, and all our old and new friends who came down... :shades:

  3. Whoa!! OK I know I'm biased but Michael Louis did a great job in the Main Room lastnight. That's like the 3rd time he's played on a club system, and he sounded like a seasoned pro.

Followed by Roland and then Oscar it was a killer night for music. Also props to B-Side (dreds guy) for a nice set on the patio. Some very funky beats.

Thanks to all the peeps who came out... You guys rock! We had a great night :D

  4. See what all the fuss is about... 21 year old Michael Louis beat out some excellent DJ's to win our contest, and now will spin for 3 hours at Space on Saturday alongside Oscar G and Roland.

Those that were at Spin know how good he is, and those that weren't - where's our love? :D

We hope you can all make it out to support some of Miami's finest DJ's. The night will also feature an open bar, and a patio set by DJ B-Side on the new Stanton Final Scratch system!

    Check CoolJunkie for password.

  5. That kinda sums it up - it was an amazing night - the whole of Miami came down! The club was totally rammed and the DJ's did us very proud.

Although all 3 finalists will get a slot at Space, there will be 1 winner chosen. Keep an eye on CoolJunkie for the announcement today... :dj:

  6. It's a double edged sword - it's great to see dance music getting more recognition, but on the other hand the scene becomes flooded with new DJ's.

That's a large part of the reason why most clubs stick with their residents - they get so many people asking for a shot that they just don't have time to weed through the CD's, and consequently just have a policy of saying 'no'.

However each superstar DJ started somewhere - I think that the people who deserve a shot will have the commitment and drive to find their chance (as in our DJ Spin Off winner ;))

  7. Street are featuring a full pull-out supplement about the DJ competition this week. You can get all the inside info on the finalists and the judges, as well as a 'How To Be A DJ' advice column :D

  8. Lemme get this straight... a great club, one of our finest local DJ's, 3 of Miami's most exciting new DJ's, open bar till 11, $4 drinks, huge laser show, panel of judges including Oscar G and Edgar V, Biz in da house, the event CoolJunkie have been building up to for the past 3 months...

probably worth checking out then :D

Seriously I hope you'll all come out to the party - we always talk big about finding new talent on this board - let's support it!

    cheers,

    Nick Junkie :shades:

  9. It's more of a slow burner than a grab you by the balls album, but by the 3rd listen I was well hooked.

Also good upcoming - Layo & Bushwacka!, Underworld (album of the year?), and Miguel Migs (solo album - v. smooth).
