  1. Hear hear. Mods please sticky this thread.
  2. Could we sticky this please? It comes from Space management.
  3. There is no further information available right now regarding what happened, other than that the club will remain open. If I get any concrete info I'll let you know, but try not to worry about wild rumors. I'm sure Space will comment as soon as they can. We'll see you there tonight at 10...
  4. Space have asked me to let you know. Guys we need you to circulate this info as far as possible - the media will undoubtedly be out to wreck our weekend. Don't let them.
  5. This is confirmed. The club will be open and the CoolJunkie DJ Spin Off will go ahead. Just means we'll get even more press coverage...
  6. Pleasure! Sirens and air horns are also officially banned from the contest
  7. Sure - we always tell the DJ's to just play their own set and not worry about their slot. All I advised them to do is keep it to a level that will enable Oscar G to do his thing afterwards without having to drop it too much. All the guys are on a tech or progressive tip so that should be cool. Obviously there's a difference in the crowd from 12-3, but it's not necessarily the DJ who gets the biggest reaction who wins, it's the most talented one. Last year's winner played 10.30-11.40 at Spin - the floor wasn't packed by that time, but he played the best set and he won.
  8. My bad. I'm just a textbook 50's throwback. Buster's going to do his best 'Let's getr eady to rumble' impersonation.
  9. Should be great - I think No Cover will also be filming for a future show.
  10. That's it - Space, Street, and Party 93.1, have all gotten behind this 100% and are showing huge faith in the DJ's to give them primetime slots. Many thanks!
  11. Cool idea - maybe this year we could do an old-school clap-o-meter a la 50's high school talent contests? Would you be up for doing the pointing? We'll definitely look into this for next year...
  12. OK the schedule is: 10-11: CoolJunkie reception in the lounge w/ Bacardi open bar. 11: Main Room Opens w/ Roland 12: Oscar Fonseca 1: Diaga 2: Hydra 3: Oscar G Hope to see you all there. It will get crazy after 11, but if you can make it before 11 we'll all be hanging in the lounge - should be cool.
  13. Their sets will probably be an hour long. We'll confirm the schedule on Wednesday.
  14. Party will broadcast 12-3, but I think we'll be kicking off at 11 so they'll miss most of the first DJ's set. Only way to see it is in person
  15. Not totally confirmed yet but I'll post as soo as they are...
  16. COOLJUNKIE DJ SPIN OFF 2003 FINAL Space34: Saturday August 16th @ 10pm Oscar Fonseca vs Diaga vs Hydra Plus Oscar G, Roland, and Markus Schulz We're really going all out with this one, so I hope you can all join us. These three guys will be giving 110% so we're expecting some great music, as well as kickass visuals. We're having a CoolJunkie meetup at 10pm in the lounge with free drinks. Password for free entry is on the site. A quick idea of what to expect (based on the heats): Oscar: Tech House Diaga: Prog House / Breaks with some Zabiela-esque trickery. Hydra: Prog House / Breaks / Trance Space residents: Taking the roof off
  17. If you're heading to the beach tonight drop by Lime Bar early to catch the final heat, featuring Onyx, Kiavi, and Diaga. So far the music has ben top notch, and this one looks like it be very close. No cover all night, and open bar from 8-9pm. Spin Off begins at 9 sharp...
  18. NV guest list has been added to CoolJunkie.com for Saturdays...
  19. First one was a very close call - results later today... Michael Martin vs Hydra vs Joseph Anthony tonight... Doors at 8 / No cover / Open bar till 9... See you there!
  20. er because Michael Martin is one of your buddies and you helped to compile his mix? Might affect your impartiality a little...
  21. That's cool dude - I just wanted to let everyone know why he's still in, even though he didn't make it on Saturday...
  22. We felt that Oscar had a reasonable excuse so he's still in - he spins at 9pm Thursday. Saleen - you couldn't be a judge cos they won't let you into Space34...
  23. This Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nine of Miami's best new DJ's will battle it out for a slot at the Spin Off final. Doors open at 8pm, and there's an open bar until 9. Spin Off begins at 9 sharp. Early arrivals will also receive a copy of last year's winner Michael Louis's new CD. No cover and easy parking... Hope to see you all there!
  24. To say the crowd doesn't 'get' it is a contradiction in terms. A DJ's job is to entertain a crowd, and any jock worth their salt should be able to read a floor within 3 records. Quivver didn't do that and didn't play a good set.
