  4. **Special Guests Alert** DJ Spree (Anthony Alfano) has been listening to dance music and spinning records as far back as '92 when the words Techno and House music were uncommon words to the mainstream. While it was only a hobby at the time, it wasn't until he started going to events like Nasa at Shelter and Disco 2000 at the Limelight where he realized the full potential of what a DJ can do. Over the years as his addiction to music and DJ'ing grew, he has had many gigs and residencies which include Limelight, Speed (Shelter), Cream, Shelter (Vinyl), Liquids, Leopard Lounge, Lansky Lounge and more. His style of music ranges from tribal and tech house to progressive trance, but always tries to keep the mood groovy and energetic. This weeks line up: Nathan Leonard 8-9 (progressive house) DJ Adam 9-10 (progressive trance/progressive house) Pasha 10-11 (progressive house) DJ Spree 11-12 (progressive house) Justin Edward 12-1 (progressive house) Bogdan 1-2 (not progressive ) For more info check the promotions forum
  5. Firewalls suck. Sorry Mikey
  6. **Special Guests Alert** Rich Woods is a relatively new DJ, having started learning his craft from scratch in April 2000. In this short time, however, he has accomplished much more than his limited experience would suggest. Since his first public appearances at Halcyon's open turntable sessions, he's gone on to play at an ever -increasing array of clubs and lounges in New York City, including Filter 14, Leopard Lounge, Angel, Halcyon and Noca, as well as numerous house and loft parties. He currently holds a residency at Bar Below in Brooklyn. He is one of the "Be Yourself @ Vinyl" DJ's, appearing regularly as an opener (or fill-in) for Danny Tenaglia at his regular Friday night parties at ARC (formerly Vinyl). Rich has just recently opened for Steve Lawler at Shelter for the CD release party for Lights Out. He has just signed on with con-fu-sion djs NYC, joining such notable talent as Medicine8, differentGear, Hiro and Honey Dijon. When he's not spinning, Rich's reputation for seeking out and discovering rare or obscure records is growing and is clearly reflected in his sets and CD's. This is a two hour set that shouldn't be missed! This weeks line up: Lasix 8-9 (tech house/progressive house) Rory Nugent 9-10 (trance) Obain 10-11 (D& Rich Woods 11-1 (deep house/progressive house) Nathan Leonard 1-2 (progressive house) For more info check out the Promotions Forum

  14. **Special Guests Alert** The Hammond Brothers, as Friend and Pinwheel, may seem like virtual unknowns to the NYC DJ community, but these two are no strangers to the decks with over 10 years experience between the two of them. They truly define the term undiscovered talent. Pinwheel is a student of the older school of techno, with heavy influences coming from Detroit wizards such as Derrick May and Suburban Knight and from other favorites such as Terry Mullan and the Wicked Crew. As opposed to conforming to one sound, however, his intention is to conjure up different flavors of techno, house, and electro to cast a funky spell on the Homegrown faithful. Friend's brand of drum & bass is near impossible to peg, but one thing is guaranteed: no matter how hard you try, you will end up with a smile on your face on account of his superior track selection and impeccable mixing skills. Once a production assistant of NYC D&B wizard Jo-S, he has recently finished production on a more abstract collection of music away from drum & bass. So this week's Homegrown will be a rare opportunity to catch this man behind the decks. This weeks line up: Bogdan 8-9 (house/techno) The Rev 9-10 (techno) Pinwheel 10-11 (techno/house/electro) Friend 11-12 (drum & bass) Ksmt 12-1 (drum & bass) Lasix 1-2 (techno) For more info check the Promotions Forum
