I had a great time last night. I'm so glad I blew off studying. Oliver Ho was very good as expected. But NASTY blew me away. I was SO fucking happy through his set. He knows how to work a crowd, he's technically amazing, great programming, and it was not all top 40 Umek was ok, mad respect to the man's skillz but his set kinda bored me. just wasnt going anywhere. I tried to hold out for Kanzyani but I just couldnt sustain energy anymore. too tired and not feelin that great. I heard like a half hour of his set which was good, but I couldnt get my legs to move anymore. anyway, it was great seeing everyone. I think we had a really awesome little crew going (with a few notable persons being MIA) and now, the quote of the night: "MY BALLS ARE OVULATING LIKE A MOTHERFUCKER!" ummmm. . . . what? Beyer next week. . . awe yeah. OK, study time

And mike: I have absolutely no clue why you just attacked me because it was completely unnecessary but I'm not AT ALL interested in arguing about politics on a fucking club-related message board. You have a right to your opinion. However grossly misinformed I may think it is, I'll respect it and your right to it. Dave AND I move posts and we've both been moving all the war-related posts. You dont like it. Duely noted. (on a side note, I cant get over how agrresive and hostile this war is making everyone. Of course the war is important. In fact, all I’ve been doing is reading and thinking about it. IT IS important, that’s why there’s a whole forum that has been primarily concerned with it. Its called current events. I’ll never understand why people get so indignant when their posts get moved the forum they belong in. Its not like it’s any harder for someone to click on another forum other than NY, and the redirect was left there. Oh, and just so you know, I do support our troops 100%. I just don’t support their current mission.

another point: there is also a difference between OVERT, BLATANT homophobia and the more IMPLICIT, PASSIVE-AGGRESSIVE homophobia. While the first is present on the board and is upsetting, its obvious and easy to ignore and write off as ignorance and stupidity and I dont find it nearly as disturbing as those who are passive-aggresively gay-bashing and dont even seem to be aware of it. And THAT form is much more common than the first. (much like the misogyny on the board, but thats a whole other thread) This, in my opinion, is much scarier.

wow. Thank you everyone for the thoughtful responses. (and those that responded with "shut up fag" and "you're gay" can suck my left nut jk. I dont have a left nut. or a right one. but I digress.) I want to say a few things. First, its reassuring to see I'm not the only one who is bothered by this. I was beginning to think no one noticed or cared. Second, its a damn shame to see that so many old timers have become so complacent about it and given up on this community, and it IS a community. Thats exactly why the calibur of the board has declined in many of our opinions, because the good ones give up and leave. Phunk- you are, per usual, perceptive with dead-on accuracy, and I hope that people took the time to read what you said. Kitty- like I said in my PM I agree that the racial slurring on the board is also upsetting and disrespectful. And while we're at it the misogyny level aint much better. I also dont really read sticky posts cause they are posted by admins and they are rarely about events that I go to, so I didnt see the stuff you were reffering to, but i'll keep a better eye on them from now on. I made this post from the position of a member of the community, not as a moderator exerting "authority." I wasnt giving orders. I was making an observation and an appeal to fellow board members. However, as a mod, I want to repeat, as I have said before, if you see an offensive post on the board, click the "REPORT THIS POST TO THE MODERATOR" button. That is what its there for. P.L.U.R., people. Thats all I'm saying.
