Congrats & GOod luck, I just moved here in March! I would suggest finding a temp place to crash before you settle into anything long term. that's what i did. It gives you a chance to look around instead of running all over the place in one weekend. The village voice has tons of listings, but dont bother signing up at any of the apt listing services - Its all bait and switch. IF you can afford to pay a realtor's fee your have a lot more options! Three years ago, my mom bought a 1998 BMW 328i, and the transmission went after 2 years... they fixed it, but they didnt do a good job cuz she had to bring it back in like 6mos later. Its was leaking! and everytime she called to inquire how much longer, they could never give her a straight answer... but this is a dealership in Mass... SHe still loves her car though

Went down to "nawlins" for Mardi Gras this year and had a blast, but I'd say its more of a bar scene than clubs. Actually i had a blast partying and dancing on Bourbon Street. But check out Club 735 on bourbon street. and there is another near hte corner of Canal and Bourbon.. can't remember the name. The best house/techno music was in Oz and the one right across the street... but they are both gay clubs. You might want to check out what's outside the French Quarter too... but i am not quite sure what else there is.. Hope this helps you! oh yeah, Paul Oakenfold actually did a set at House of Blues during mardi gras so you may want to check that place out, too!

ok well I being an asian female, his question did not offend me. I ask only cuz I get approached by guys all the time and the first things out of their mouths is, "i love asian women" Honestly, its kind of a turn off for me bc I am assuming that they have this preconceived notion of asian women -- that they are demure and submissive, etc. And i am so not that! So i was curious to see why he found asian females so intriguing. and yes, I am one of those well dressed asian girls in the clubs.

Yeah, the shirts was definitely the real reason. I just spoke to someone who was working in the broadcast booth last night and confirmed the boos. but i guess they didn't think that the booing came across that much over tv... I was like, they did! He said their soundcheck was better than the performance, too

I just moved from Boston a couple months ago, and honestly the best after hours are usually the house parties. But FYI -- Rise is a gay club. Some care, others don't but you may want to know before you try to go there. and yes, check out the Boston board and ask about DeJaVu... I dont know if its still going but its on the NH/Mass line and they run it on the first or second weekend of every month. There is also a club called Pulse in Providence, RI. It opens up at 6am Sunday and goes til 12noon. Hope this helps you out
