I didn't have time for too many places, but had a great time at Cookies, Tresor/Globus, and WMF (where Funkstorung played an excellent set). They varied vastly in ambience, but I'd recommend all three to anyone passing through Berlin. Can offer more specific info/descriptions to anyone interested; just pm me. Unfortunately Maria am Ostbahnhof was closed for renovations during my stay.

I'd appreciate it if you could recommend some cool spots to check out, and/or PM me with some contacts. I have two weeks and would love to experience the German drum&bass scene and see some visuals. I posted this question in the "Clubbing in Other Parts of the World" category but no one responded....

I listen to Spinner.com and Sonicnet.com; both have 6 or 7 categories of electronic/dance music. Netradio.com is another station.

Anyone know some exciting/interesting clubs in Berlin? I'd like to experience 1) drum-&-bass, 2) hip-hop, 3) visuals; but my priority is to get as much out of the scene as possible in 2 weeks.

I only know about Serafina. What about Baktun?

Any recommendations? Hip-hop or drum&bass preferred but house/trance also appreciated. thanks in advance

why would you want to feed into the group-mentality afflicting so many Asian club-goers? In my (admittedly limited) clubbing experiences I've rarely encountered an Asian who can actually dance. Or even an Asian who seems comfortable dancing alone. Most just wiggle around in clusters, clinging to one another for dear life. I happen to be [east-]Asian, and frankly find most Asians in clubs really irritating.

I'm East Asian but primarily attracted to South Asians and darker-complexioned Europeans/Eurasians. I can definitely find East Asian guys aesthetically pleasing, but can't really imagine having a sexual relationship with one -- though on the other hand I don't misconceptualize them as asexual either. Unlike you, Opala, my household wasn't male-dominated -- actually it was entirely matrilineal which was really cool....

Fabric is of the essence when shopping from H&M. Avoid the polyester! Instead, go for the linen, the silk, the thicker cotton and some of the viscose blends. They look better and last longer. The cut/styling can be pretty good, esp. with trousers; too bad so much of the stuff just looks so cheap. I mean, it IS cheap but that's no excuse for inconsistency. And this is great advice!:
