  1. Anyone gonna check him out this Thursday @ Five? I'm mad I'm gonna miss it. I'll be in NYC. Not like the alternative is a bad thing, but there's a lot goin on this weekend in DC. Oh well.
  2. Headin up to NYC for Rocksteady Crew Anniversary. Goin up Thursday and comin back Sunday. Also hittin Shelter on Saturday. Been waitin for this weekend to come for a while.
  3. haha, if it were only that easy to have every club post a sign stating whether they are snotty or not..hahah
  4. So what's up with equating UPSCALE with the door policy? Five may have no "door policy" as far as dress code, but the majority of the people who go, dress up anyway. I think it's funny how the "upscale" places have to TELL their patrons to look upscale instead of the people just coming correct.
  5. I'm pretty sure it's the second Saturday of August. He spins the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month. He spins on July 26 and August 9 then he is gone. I'm gonna miss the hell out of him and his sets.
  6. Try the Rionde. I heard it was cheap and big. The pool area is dope, I went there for WMC. Don't stay at the Penguin. It's a shoebox.
  7. There's still hiphop at Five. It's on Thursdays.
  8. I'm probably not goin for Josh Wink. If I end up at Five, I'll be on the rooftop. But Five has been bringin in some good talent. Afrorikan Vibe was off the HOOK last time they were there. Plus the club as a whole is dope. Hittin Red tonight. Doug Smith and Moncef tagteamin. There are the last couple weeks of Doug @ Red too. He's leavin the DJ thing to become a lawyer. Second week of August is his last night I believe.

  10. They could. I'm not saying you can only have a URL in your sig if you are affiliated with them. But that's the common reason why people do that. And if the public thinks you represent the business behind the URL, then that could be bad for the business.
  11. In the end, it's up to the people. DCNC is an organization. One that is trying to get donations from people. Now if a member made a comment in a public forum and it was obvious to the public that the person was a member, then it can easily be interpreted that the person is speaking as a member of the organization especially when there is some representation of the organization present (the website's URL). If the public sees it as a bad statement on the member's or the organization's behalf, it can lead to the detriment of the organization's rep. When people affiliated with OOB make public comments based on personal opinion, I tell them not to put the OOB link or anything OOB related in their signatures. If DCNC had made the comment, it would've upset lots of people who would then spread the word of that. That's all I'm saying. I'm sure the DCNC wouldn't want that to happen and neither would anyone who donated. I had to point all of that out so if anyone in the org did care, they would address the issue. That's all.
  12. Then it's bad business to come into a party, set up a table, and ask for donations and then walk away from the party making comments that show you didn't approve of the music.
  13. Word, and that's fine. As I pointed out, my comments weren't directed at you. I didn't like your comment about the music but even I can acknowledge you are entitled to your opinion. It was in that special circumstance that I had to comment on Rockyblue's remark. I liked that night a hell of a lot and I'm not on here because that party is on my site. I didn't even know many of you were there. I didn't even know DCNC would be there lookin for donations or maybe I would've brought a little to give up. Oh well. I'm done. It's cleared up, DCNC didn't make the statement so they are in the clear. Done and done.
  14. Just to clarify, you said "and no 80s flashback DJ sets please" which, while I don't like what you said, was your opinion. Rockyblue was the one who made the "80's remixes" comment.
  15. I don't deny that there was a lot of 80s era music. But the party was promoted as just that, an 80's era music party or on the flyer, it says "old school underground electronic music." The emails I received and the DJs who even told me first hand, said that's exactly how the night would be, 80's era club, freestyle, and R&B classics. You're comments make it seem as though it was misrepresented.
  16. The flyer is on my site but I'm not a promoter for it. And you missed my whole point of saying what I said. Fine, he said some wack shit about the party, so did kken, not a big deal because everyone can have their own opinion. But Rockyblue has the DCNC URL in his signature which makes it look like the organization is downing the same party they solicited donations from. So I wanted to clear it up that he is not from DCNC.
  17. When the party was promoted as just what it is, then you have no place to down the music like that. You may not have liked it, but plenty of people there did. And my whole point was he makes it look like he represents DCNC and then he made the weak comment about the music. If he was from DCNC, I would make sure everyone knew that DCNC is full of a bunch of hypocrites. But, he is not from DCNC. He just knows people in it. Fine. I'd still like to see how the songs played were "80's remixes." That's the funniest thing I've ever heard when referring to club classics.
  18. I just asked because it appeared that rockyblue was from DCNC because of the DCNC site in his (assuming Rockyblue is a guy) signature. It looks pretty bad when DCNC was at the party trying to get donations but then someone trying to promote/represent them, bashes the party's music with a comment that shows the person obviously doesn't know much about that music or the party itself. But now knowing that Rockyblue isn't officially DCNC, I won't hold that against DCNC, just Rockyblue.
  19. Rockyblue, Are you from dcnc?
  20. I went on Wednesday...This place is DOPE...It's in Adams Morgan next to the McDonalds on 18th and Columbia. It's kinda like Modern in a way. Sunken bar and just great overall decor that could hang with NY or Miami venues (the smaller ones). The party was dope too. Guess where I'll be goin back to tomorrow...hahhaa Let me know what you think of this spot if you've been.. Peace
  21. Chaz (Asiatic of Natural Elements Crew, GroovMekanex, and Culture Shock DC) is collecting clothes to distribute to the homeless in DC. He isn't very well connected to the internet so he asked me to pass along the word for him. If you are interested in donating, contact me here or email me at frost@bboy.com. Thanks, Peace.
  22. www.outofbreath.com shows you where to go depends on what you are into but check it out at least. Peace.
  23. hahhaah good one... I dunno why braultj2 posted the question, especially since he didnt submit a list either. I want to see peoples' lists because I'm curious as to see what they consider great House songs. I don't download music anymore. Not because I'm against it, but because I'm too lazy and really, I get my share of music on the daily at the club and from mixes. By the way, if you want to hear some ill mixes, I have plenty on my site, www.outofbreath.com. I'm posting some new ones right now. Peace.
  24. Not for nothin, but, I don't think some of those songs fit the criteria as far as vocal. Songs like Whistle Song are great but there are no vocals in it. There are a number of others as well. Oh well, just tryin to keep the lists relevant to what braultj2 asked for. So where are the rest of the lists?
