I think an agnostic is anyone who doesnt like the choices in religions out there and decides upon a belief of their own. I'm an atheist but if someone showed me proof (not the 'proof' that most religions give, but proof that I believed) of a higher being, i would believe then.

I have to buy the new metroid and a gamecube for my girlfriend when it comes out. She's a metroid freak and its all I hear about when ever the game cube or xbox comes up. I havent decided which is better of the 2, i still like my ps2. Gamecude would be better if it played dvd's, but i guess 100 bucks less then xbox and i could buy a cheap dvd player

We cant even see a billionth of a billionth of the universe, so saying we havent found anything like that is pretty meaningless. How does Jupiter act as a shield from meteors?

I agree with most of what u said, but I think that there are some crafty people that see a chance to pass bullshit laws in with the good ones. Things like the SSSCA (or whatever the letters are) are horrible and have nothing to do with terrorism yet that might be passed just because everyone is on a warpath.

I don't know about them being able to visit us.. I have read quite a few papers/books that argue pretty persuasively that if there is other intelligent life the chances of them being close enough to visit us are basically nil. I guess it all depends on if you believe that traveling much faster then light is possible or not. Out of curiosity what would you like them to explain? Questions about physical aspects like pyramids or otherworldly things like afterlife, etc?

Isn't the topic of the poll thread backwards? it kind of threw me off when it came to answering the questions. Until I read the body of the post. That aside I think it's by far too large a universe to believe that we are the only combination of checmicals that could form intelligent life. There are probably thousands of intelligent forms of life out there, let alone unintelligent ones. I know there is an equation based half on facts and half on assumptions by some really famous scientist that is supposed to estimate the number of planets with intelligent and unintelligent. It was way beyond me but the numbers it gave were pretty high, like 1000's of intelliegnt and hundreds of thousands of unintelliget life out there. Well just thought I'd throw my 2 cents out there

I am not harassing you and i see 2 problems here. 1. You did reply to me quite a few times with insults, so i guess you did want to. 2. You decided that because igloo was telling you that you are misguided and clueless that he "[doesn't] like the fact that someone can come in here and bash [his] ideals, because [he] thinks [he is] completely right and everyone is wrong." Well using your logic and applying it to the way you have responded to me i have to come to the same conclusion about you. Incase you forgot, you posted this threat to begin with and I being a member of the board read through the thread and noticed something I wanted to reply to. Im not picking a fight, I just found the logic in some of the things you said flawed. What does it matter if you didnt know I existed before now, i would assume most people on here dont know the other exist until they see a post. If you don't give a damn why would you post on a msg board and why would you read the replies?

Once again after reading your ramblings I am forced to point out that you are contradicting yourself and making quite an ass out of yourself. You tell bxbomb not to generalize about people and give your wonderful little example, but right before that you state 'People are actually cool there.' Which is a generalization unless you intend us to believe that you have met everyone there and they are 'cool' and have met everyone here and they are not 'cool.' As for the making an ass out of yourself, if you want to insult someone please get your insults straight. The proper phrase is "I am pretty sure you have never even left the state, let alone the country," not the backasswards way you said it. Secondly, (and this one i find hilarious) not only do you try to insult someone on a msg board by asking them a question and assuming they can't answer, you also quote free speech rights as a defense to say anything you want AND THEN you tell him "Unless you have something decent and intelligent to say, be quiet." :laugh: :laugh:
