  1. Comin from the oracle of all electronic music wisdom here at CP, that's quite a compliment.
  2. Hey everyone- Thanks so much for the love... thehacker and Sice: you're too sweet to me! Thank you for the kind words - you're both too generous, but I won't argue.
  3. Exactly. That's what I put on this morning when I got home - gentle but energetic - esp. the transition from track one to track two. Soooooo good.
  4. Can't comment on Exit (never been) though I can't imagine the crowd not being mixed for Junior. Vinyl is mixed and welcomes all, esp. on fridays for DT - a great vibe. have fun!
  5. try dancesafe.org they have excellent info. and also provide links to other sites.
  6. or worse, you actually DO attempt these activities, only to realize after five minutes of awkward silence that you have absolutely nothing to talk about. "Ugh, soooooo, uhhhh...wanna hit Baktun?"
  7. somewhere i have never travelled, gladly beyond any experience, your eyes have their silence: in your most frail gesture are things which enclose me, or which i cannot touch because they are too near your slightest look will easily unclose me though i have closed myself as fingers, you open always petal by petal myself as Spring opens (touching skilfully, mysteriously) her first rose or if your wish be to close me, i and my life will shut very beautifully, suddenly, as when the heart of this flower imagines the snow carefully everywhere descending; nothing which we are to perceive in this world equals the power of {this} intense fragility: whose texture compels me with the color of its countries, rendering death and forever with each breathing (i do not know what it is about you that closes and opens; only something in me understands the voice of your eyes is deeper than all roses) nobody, not even the rain, has such small hands e.e. cummings
  8. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! I had completely forgotten about both these tracks until Friday night when those crazy boyz filling in for DT at Vinyl dropped them both.
  9. Help! I need two track ids (both have been around for a while): one has an evil voice saying "Annihilate.." and the other, a female vocal "Time for a revolution"? Any help is greatly appreciated!
  10. Hey man - bravo on an excellent set. God damn if you guys didn't keep that place jumping. Soooo much energy, sooo many crescendos. Beautifully crafted sets, and considering the shoes you had to fill, I think you did an incredible job of holding the vibe, sustaining the energy. Thank you for an awesome night! It was wonderful! :D
  11. Moody and amorphous, verging, still- In silent states of ebbing, I progress. In early hours, silent, unexplored, I rush in with the tide an admitted luminary daughter aware of what pulls her, rising to greet it. Waxing, waning, free. The deep sea swells with pregnant motion and retreats, revealing life along a darkened shoreline. The moon is arched, so liquid in her reach, slipping towards her fullness, purring in its wake. And as I curl, complete within my globe, yet slim tonight, an arching lighted slip of flesh and thought, I breathe her in, an image of myself, who knows her seasons to be ordered well.
  12. hmmm...is it that they "flaunt" their sexuality, or that they are simply sexy? I find that many times, "flaunt" is a word used by men to make women responsible for the attraction men feel toward them. Sister Bliss is a beautiful woman - she cannot hide that, nor is there any flaunting required. Same old story, I suppose: no one minds if chicks get ahead, as long as they aren't pretty AND smart. Then they're being manipulative or "flaunting."
  13. Sandra Collins Spacegirl Polywog (San Fran) There seem to be many more women deejays in San. Fran than in NY (or anywhere else, actually). I went to a rave out there last May and the main floor was virtually dominated by women deejays. Also, a friend of mine who lives in Oakland just threw an all-female deejay party and had no trouble filling time slots.
  14. I agree that a club is not the place to be - outdoors, preferably in a garden or somewhere beautiful, is ideal. I am a total lightweight when it comes to drugs - especially ones that make you hallucinate - so I was very hesitant to try shrooms. I ended up having the best time though (I was also really cautious about how much I took). Fun fun fun and I never once felt out of control. I could even control the "visuals." It's also a really clean drug (maybe because it's natural?) - no morning-after sluggishness or residuals at all. Be careful, and enjoy!
  15. Jesus Christ, bro. Go get a hug. And if that doesn't work, may I suggest you volunteer for the front lines. Either way, though, unless you can produce a coherent point of view or logical insight, move this shit to the drama board. Your rage isn't welcome here...
  16. Careful here...no one "intentionally" puts themselves in a position to be raped. Whether its ghb or alcohol or a dark alleyway, rape is rape, and the victim is always unsuspecting...
  17. GHB is usually considered the date rape drug, though some studies (mostly gov't sponsored ones) claim that mdma (pure Ecstasy) has been used for the same purposes. Overall, however, mdma decreases aggression and violence, unlike, say, alcohol.
  18. Pay Loch no mind, Jax - life beyond cp is something he has only recently discovered. MISS U GIRL! GET HOME SAFELY AND WE'LL PARTY UPON YOUR RETURN.
  19. I have no problem with Christianity - or with Christ, for that matter. Actually, I'm a fan. In and of itself, Christianity (Christ) is brilliant, and offers tremendous wisdom - wisdom that IMO is lost on Ms. Graham. I think Ms. Graham represents an extreme point of view (as does the entire post) that ultimately misinterprets the bible, and its message. The church does not have a monopoly on morality, and school prayer is not the only way to teach our kids not to kill each other. Nor do I think God has deserted us because we've decided it's not a great idea to hit our kids (Dr. Spock), or to let our school teachers hit our kids, or concluded that masturbation might not be that bad, or that safe sex is smart, or that as a woman, I have a right to govern my own body, or or or... I'm not sure Jesus would have a problem with these things. I think he might have a problem, however, with Ms. Graham's implication that he's somehow deserted us because "we asked him to" (which we haven't).
  20. "Moody." Hands down. "You're so moody, standing there. All I wanna do is touch you. Oh yeah..."
  21. Better question: Was Ms. Graham thinking? I don't find her statement profound or insightful. In fact, I find it simplistic, limited and skewed.
  22. Just finished "Country of the Pointed Firs" by Sarah Orne Jewett - beautiful, sensitive and wise book by an extraordinary American female novelist who's too often overlooked. Right now: "Winesburg, Ohio" by Sherwood Anderson. LOVE IT - it's a series of interlocking short stories - extraordinary moments of consciousness as experienced by the most common, beautiful characters (similar to Hemingway). Gorgeous and tragic. Next up: "American Tragedy" by Theodore Dreiser.
