Happy to announce that the Snowball Collective will be throwing a new party in mid-April. For those new-schoolers...Snowball was an integral part of DC's underground scene in the early 90's. We threw a series of warehouse parties, as well as some very memorable club events. Recently we have spent most of our time in the studio...but we felt it was time to gather the family together once again. Our events were well known for great music, as well as a vibe that is unmatched anywhere else. The event will be held on Friday April 19th at a great club space that has rarely been used. The space has two seperate rooms of music, as well as a comfortable lounge space. what are you talking about MADAME?? i like my little guy...ya green fuzz. -luckily i dont have to stick my head in too many books (art school...we cant read) hey katie-hows boston? i'm actually going to moscow, so i'll be missing miami. vic-wmc definately counts as spring break. where are you staying? have you been before? i saw some show on the travel channel last nite about 'spring break'. they went to all the cheesy/frat boy places (panama city, lake havasu, cancun, etc...) i was laughing at the places they kept describing as 'hot clubs' basically-anywhere you could get cheep beer and grind to bad music. sounds like fun. (kinda sounds like platinum...)

oh..wait... worst bathrooms - anyone goto 'the edge' when they were 'remodeling'? one week there was a piece of plywood for a door to the stall. next week there was no plywood...and no toilets!! just holes in the ground. oh yeah-and no running water., talk about sanitary - there were fucked up ravers (you know how people would get at the edge) puking and shitting into a dank hole in the floor...with no door or water to wash themselves. pretty nasty...

worst club...hands down is casava in adams morgan. the only reason i even know about this place is because i used to live above it. the music sucks the crowd sucks the drinks suck the bathrooms suck the lighting sucks there is nothing about this place that does not SUCK. remember the 2 different shootings that happened in adams morgan last a few summers ago? both times they started as fights from within this place. i may be a little biased against this place-since, as i said, i lived above it for 3 years. the bass from their shitty sound system used to vibrate my apartment four nites a week, and someone would try and charge me/check my id as i was trying to go home. in fact-i think that the adams morgan community is trying to force the place out of business. ...enough ranting...

had my wisdom teeth yanked out over the summer. i had never been put under by anesthetics (or whatever they are called) before...which was definately a bizarre experience. i could feel the shit spreading out through my body-and when it hit my head i was OUT. i woke up later wondering when it was going to start-and then i tried to figure out how the hell i had been moved to a different room. the nurse laughed at me and was like, "you dont remember walking in here?" one thing tho - as out of it as i was, i still had enough sense to argue for a later time for my follow up visit. they wanted me to come at 8 am, and i slurred my way into an 11 am appointment. no way i was getting up that early. anyway...hope you feel better.

we could all stay in and listen to buzz on the radio, have someone flick the lightswitch up and down, and throw a pile of jackets in the middle of the floor...maybe someone could stand in the kitchen and sell $3 glasses of tap water??

sometimes i'm glad i'm not a girl. besides the advantage being able to pee while standing up-guys dont have to put up with half of the shit girls do. what kinda sick fuck spikes somebody's drink hoping to 'get some'?

i think that going out alone is cool. how many times have you tried to organize a group of people going out together-only to have 15 little drama's develop over it? dc is such a small town/big city, that unless you go somewhere way off the beaten path, you are bound to run into someone you know (of course-this isnt ALWAYS a good thing...)

hey there. just dicovered club planet...(took me a while) i'm buster- i've been a dj in dc for the past 7 years. my group-the snowball collective-threw alot of dc raves in the 90's. currently i am spinning at a little place called 'modern' in dc on sunday nites... anyway-since i'm new here, i figuered i'd offer everyone some music. i recently released a new mix cd-it's a unique mix of tech house and progressive (although i hate to classify music) i have ten copies to send out to anyone that is interested. if you'd like one-please send an e-mail to djbuster@earthlink.net i'll send the cd's out to the first 10 people i hear from. also-anyone interested in checking out my sunday nite party-drop me a line. i can always arrange a guestlist spot for people who are into good music. hope everyone had a good weekend... -buster
